If you wanted to see something truly terrible today, watch the above video of rapper Cadalack Ron shooting drugs while trying to hold his own in a rap battle from earlier this week, via Death and Taxes. The match-up between the Los Angeles native and Pasadena's Syfer 1 took place at a denim store in Compton, with each MC getting three rounds to prove himself with on-the-spot intravenous injections purely optional.

It seems Ron, who has a history of drugs, can't quite keep up from the beginning, reciting what sounds like a pre-written rap instead of freestyling. Still, he boasts about his junkie past and his tolerance for opiates, while Syfer 1 raps his ass off. Then, around 9:50, Ron takes out a needle and shoots what the clip's description says is heroin, though he seems more pepped-up afterward.

The onlookers laugh, gasp, make jokes, cheer him on, and try to get photos and videos on their phones. What's even sadder is that being an addict is Ron's gimmick, as his Twitter bio includes the nicknames Krokodil Dundee, the Methadone Don, and Black Tar Rap Star. He's even retweeted some of the mentions about what happened. Odds are, this story isn't going to have a happy ending.

That is terrible. I hate the glamarization of self destruction. Being a person drawn to the same it makes my life and every other addict's life harder when the world seems to be going to hell and all we see from the media is glorification or demonation of addiction. As a person trying to stay clean that video just pissed me off but sadly made me want to use all the same.
 
I don't know about that but it did look like he shot dope to me. he looked sick before and ok after, just like I've seen myself in the mirror 1000 times in the past.

Ataxia sets in later. It's not like it gives me superhuman strength or anything. But the rush feels speedy at first, if only because it gets me very excited.

I agree with you I remember that rush very fondly. All I was saying is that mabe the poster doesn't get that rush.
 
Even GG Allin who pooped on stage and threw it at crowd waited until after the show to shoot up. It's one hing to be an addict and a whole other one to use it to promote yourself.
 
Cadalack Ron actually has some good songs,listened to Think Back and Gentrification after watching this. Hope he doesn't end up like Eyedea though=( (he was way better than this guy tho)..I was always like 'hey some rap I can Identify with' turns out their opiate addicts. Go figure. That other guy he was battling got on my nerves. Ugh.
 
He was clean, but now admits to actively using, he is in the middle of a relapse.

He used to be fit and kinda got buff,but, well now it is obvious he went downhill.

Anyway, he said for being known as junkie in the game, he decided to give them a taste, he trolled everyone.

It was gatorade, he even said it recently. He said at this point he has no veins and with being in cali, all they have is tar, prepping a shot, would of been a much more lengthier process and more obvious.


He said he has no veins, he just stabbed himself with some a syringe full of gatorade.


Said he plans on getting clean soon, we'll see...he claims to been have periods of sobriety, which I know he has, but he said he has had as long as 5 years, not sure, but if so more power to him and hopefully he gets back on track.

This is still one of the most ratchet and ghetto things I've ever seen someone do on camera, ever.
 
I think he was being slighltly sarcastic...but in a fucked up way it is awesome. I wanna do it some time in life to have people go ooooo ahhhh what a genius, instead of cutting me outta their lives,lol. Like a little performance art piece called 'Self-destrution' shoots up in an art gallery,nods off, waking up occasionly to mumble something, then shoot sum crystal and ramble about my life...nobody stealll my idea! (mostly sober now, on sub maintiance and take benzo's more than I should be tho)

Caddy is known for smoking crack too, and judging by his crazy weight loss, he probably is deep into that....crack psychosis+on stage antics= shots of gatorade to the dome.

Just my theory on it.

Worked as a publicity stunt, said he got paid for some interviews, got some opportunities on the table to get treatment again, so maybe it will work out for him.

Know he has a son, not sure if he has any others, but I hope he gets his shit together.
