The legal international trade of US Morphine, Thebaine, Codeine regardless if it was legal sale or diverted by military still helped build "dope aduse, pills abuse". Yes I know, yes I know that sounds like a gen X that has paid close attention to world events and a mindset of a dope peddler. because sky diving lost it's reward factor from a 40 year Rx dependence to opioids. I have been through 4 rodeo events illicitly and bare the medical record scars from it. So many of us we just end up living this life one way of the other.
Oh yeah, the hospital knows I am a lively one. That can't get an IV's below my elbows, doctors have made notes over the years on my rap sheet there. Last year an infectious disease doctor and I had a heart to heart while needing a PICC line for the next 55 days in-patient first then out-patient.
D : "So you have chronic IV opioid abuse in your medical records. I need to put a PICC line line in you is there going to be a problem?" R: "That was many years ago. Dumb mistakes. You have nothing to worry about."
D : "Okay."...
That poor man knows I walked into the hospital with more Rx Oxycodone, Methadone, Hydromorphone, Clonidine, Ativan, Flexeril, Visteral PAM, Lunesta, Gabapentien, Busbar, Zoloft, Toprol, Lisinipril, Dilatiezm, Lipitor to medicate 50% of this ortho post-op recovery floor. The chances of a hopeless genx junkie in his late 40's with chronic pain syndrome using his PICC line at "home with no one watching" for nefarious reasons is slim pickings.
D : "Do not let me down jedi." R :"NDA is already signed. Chip will fax them over later after my sponge bath." "Nurse Buxom, my Dilaudid IV every 4hrs is due and can I have my Clonidine, Ativan, Visteral PAM 2hs after the Dilaudid, and the Roxi 30 1 hour after that.."
N : "Of Course Mr. Witches. If you need anything else, please call for me."
Now, I think getting an infection is a good thing. Staying in the hospital is better than a vacation. The brain's reward system knows no bounds, a Thoughtless child that needs a spoon full of medicine to make the medicine go down. Always screaming..
BRS " Are we there yet... How many more miles Dad? I have to pee." D : "Did you go when we left sweetie?"
BRS "You know I drank all the kool-aid at home and had 2 Dr Peppers in the car."
