Random question on opiate withdrawl

So for the past week I have been weening myself down on Hycodan (hydrocodone syrup) until today i was down to 1 ml which = 1mg hydrocodone. Prior to this I was taking about 18 of the 10/325 percocet a day and finished a script of 90 in less than a week. I have gone through withdrawl from using intravenous drugs as a teen so I KNOW WHAT WITHDRAWL IS. So I am finding this extremely weird, I had raised anxiety but thats it. I went from 180mg oxy a day habit to 1mg liquid hydrocodone with no withdrawl? This makes ABSOULOUTLY no sense to me especially since for the past 4 days I have been taking less than 2 ml (2mg) hycodan. I have been taking tons of vitamins the good expensive brand from the health food store, eating fruit and drinking a ton of water. It can't be this easy it never was. Is the tremendously small amount of Hycodan I have been taking putting withdrawl on hold? Because when I say I went through nothing I meant I DID NOT SUFFER MORE THEN A FEW ANXIETY ATTACKS, in addition i stopped taking xanax 2mg 4x and currently my regimen is just the vitamins and Klonopin 1mg 3x....any responses are appriciated because this seems like a phenomenom compared to my past experiences.

Since you've been tapering, you've probably reduced the tolerance to the hydrocodone down to almost nil.

That's why your WDs are so minimal compared to your experiences with hard drugs.

My tolerance dropped in barely under a week? I have tired this before and it never worked, do you think it will be bad when i cut off that pinch of Hycodan I'm taking?

Odd.Tapers can reduce withdrawal that way but usually.not so rapidly and not from such a high dose. How long were you taking the 180mg? Duration can have a tremendous impact on how severe the withdrawal. o

I wouldn't think 1mg Hydrocodone would do a thing. Personally, I just stop cold turkey when I feel it's time. Weaning takes too fucking long and isn't worth it imo

just be careful. u might be cool now, but after 2 days of nothing at all it might bite u in the ass. hopefully this is not the case and u actually might have pulled it off. i know there are times when i wean down and i think ill be okay... not perfect, but managable... and 2 days later with no use im waking up drenched in sweat n shivering.

its a slippery slope, indeed.

Trying to taper feels like impending doom, sometimes I'd rather just go CT if my habit is reasonably low enough to do so. Just to get it over with.

the vitamins and water could be helping alot.. that with the hycodan could be keeping them off thats what i think.. keep drinking water, make sure you eat good, and get some excercise if you can

This is exactly my experience, I tapered down with loperamide, worked like a charm, until I was at 4mg a day. With that low a dose, I thought I'd be in the clear, it's the recommended medicinal dose ffs, but two days later the night sweats started, lasting a whole week.

But I hope this isn't the case for you OP, continue the healthy living and hopefully you won't suffer at all. I'll keep my fingers crossed :)

If you are as of now only taking 1mg of hydrocodone per day, then just stop. If you haven't experienced withdrawal at all in the last week then you're not going to suddenly get it when stopping 1mg of Hydrocodone. As said, consider yourself extremely lucky.

Well I was wrong, I wasn't that lucky. I took a teaspoon of cough medicine after being up all night 2 days ago with the sweats, the chills and HORRIBLE SHAKES especially since I have panic and anxiety disorder. I should have manned up and took it but with my injuries it was 10x as a painful as it used to be I couldn't hold out. Im taking more xanax then necessary to try and knock myself out for the duration of this, i know about the addictions of that but its deff. not my DOC. Thanks a shit ton guys, makes me remember other people are going through it too...not that that would be a good thing.

I was on the 180mg of oxy for a week straight and prior to that 40mg opana up the schnoz every other day and on the days inbetween two 7.5/325 percs....just got another script FML told my mom to lock it up in the safe.
