My main problem with Jamie is that i've found some of his recipes to more to his tastes (unless they're Italian, then they're generally authentic). Jamie has this thing where he will just randomly throw in a handful of chillis into a recipe that doesn't call for it. And he's heavy handed in general, which I guess is what is classed as 'rustic' these days?! With Ramseys recipes you're always going to get a shit load of sugar/salt and fat, but it will always be 'right' if you get what I mean? I guess this is reflected in the fact that Ramseys restaurants are among the best in the country, while Jamie's are oversubscribed and when you do get in they aren't worth the wait.

Shit, me too. They're all disappearing. Just last week I found out that Bernard's watch got a bad case of rust. The 'sac du magic' from tots tv suffered a broken strap too. 'Lovely' donkey ain't so lovely anymore either :\
 
Had a great day today, sat out in the beautiful sunshine with my mate, a few blues and a few Stellas.
What a nice relaxing day, my first day since being made redundant that I have truly enjoyed.
 
My uterus is exploding and I just came back from watching Marvel Assemble* and it bored me to tears. I've come to realise that the only superhero franchise I really like is Batman, and that's mainly because it has a much broader and more interesting set of villains than any other franchise I'm familiar with, and it has better characterisation for them generally. The Killing Joke still blows me away even now, when I give it the occasional re-read.

oh, and these two have helped seal the deal over the years too.

oh, and Assemble of the Marvels had one good line/insult ... it went something along the lines of, 'Quiet! You mewling quim!'

not caught up on the thread yet.

Just back from me Nan's funeral in the Midlands. Really good day, I always enjoy funerals/wakes, she went into the furnace to Jim Reeves, Welcome to My World, shed a few tears, caught up with family I not catch up with often enough, sun was shining, my son and his cousinns all met up and had a good play in the gardens at the hotel where the wake was...highlight for them was finding a large dead goldfish in the shrubs round the gardens....with flies on it :D

Me missis never loses her touch, as we were leaving the hotel she bent down in the carpark and found a bag of white powder. Is "coke", just had a massive line, done fuck all, numbed me, and loads of undissolved granular shit in me nose.

Good day though, remembering good times with me Nan <3
 
I get what you mean with "I always enjoy [them]"... Seeing family all holding strong together. It's a great, but very sad thing. Gives ya the feeling of hope though. Been to too many of them myself over the last few years, though.
Even thinking about them is what makes em fully see how important family is. <3
