Cut by a term? That's criminal. Another reason to hate the olympics. And the Tories. And the bankers. Halls doesn't matter so much as long as you've made some good pals.

My ex did a visual communications degree. I did a fair chunk of her dissertation! And helped her with animation work (Macromedia Director. Hated it! Although it was probably her impatience that ruined the experience.)

I've been to uni three times but never finished. Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Science. Plus a smattering of Open Uni courses over the last few years. And of course I'm hoping to go back for a fourth time in September.

Where is your campus, if you don't mind me asking? Roughly speaking (or tell me exactly if you like but I understand discretion).

Damn that sounds expensive from here...I take it you're applying for Scottish unis? Did tuition fees treble there are well? :\

Before I started the course I thought 'visual communication' was one of those illusory technical terms that mainly just sounds mysterious but I'm definitely getting where they're coming from. Means they ain't just teaching us to draw, they're teaching us to talk in visual tongues, which I think is really cool. Art with a bite!

Yeah exactly, all about the concept.

I've never paid a tuition fee in my life. First degree in Scotland has always been (in modern times anyway) and still is free (for Scottish residents). My first time round, though, was paid by the company I worked for (and I was paid salary at the same time). Second time round didn't last more than a couple of months and counts as a false start. Third time round, yeah that counts against me.

Fourth time round is not only free because of the type of course, they'll fucking pay me to do it cos I'll be working half the time! And yes, Scottish unis.

I must have a knack for picking them. Certainly I don't have a knack for finishing them! This time will (if it happens) be different though, more mature head on my shoulders and all that.

Well here's to your successful studenting next year. If you make it out the other end, let me know and I'll have a celebratory pot noodle dinner your honour :D With all the sachets.

Back home in Scotland to find the warm weather gone and replaced with cold, rain and mist. :|

Proper extravagant :D Grats on the first too, I can only dream of getting one o' dem at the moment!

Summer is officially over here, pissing it down, nice change tbh. Got some weird test with the disability lot, dunno what it entails, follow on from diagnosis I got a while back I think. Then off into town to find a fucking job, woooo!

Aye it's certainly a step up from super noodles. Only on special occasions, mind you :sus:

Just thought I'd pop in briefly to wish everyone a good day.
Now gonna sit and watch 'Blood Diamonds' on DVD. Not seen it for a while but from what I remember it was a bloody good film. Later people.

well, today is sucking the big one

'tis pissing down (which isn't so bad, eh, and as Snolly says, it's rather nice for a change actually), and suspected strokes are being diagnosed. lovely

loud music and avoidance tactics are required

Bad times :( Aye the rain is a lovely change though the fucking torrential downpour when I left Tescos was less pleasant! Fucked off job hunting, come home with wine. Wine is good.

Is it ever?

@Marmalade :cuddle:

Nah eating anything on tramadol is horrible i guess, unless ur at the nodding stage...Its just my 4th day of doing them at 400mg and I know I should have been eating a lot more than I have. Does any one rekon 4 days at 400mg is going to cause WD's? ive had horrible WD's from tramadol before. Mind you iv been jumping from drug to drug avoiding allsorts of WD's for the last 4 months or more (cant remember?!) so im pretty fucked either way. Shame iv resided to tramadol though, tired of doing CWE's and cant get my hands on any oxy, Grrrr

hahaha well, i dont mind it, but yeah sometimes you do have to force it down, i find a good dollop of jam does the trick. Jus love it for its sustained energy release and keeping you full for ages, im into my bodybuilding too but ive fucked that up for the moment its a constant battle between going gym, studying and flying straight or swimming in a mud pool full of concoctions of drugs, and getting creative with music/videos. its a hard battle!
