Fucking well done SpecialK! My son's been doing taekwondo for nearly a year now, I've seen the people making the grades for black belt, is very serious business...you got presentation night coming up, name on belt and all that?.

Seriously impressive,, i started last year as me new hips\are supposed to be fone for taekwondo, but till they sort the fucking things out i just watch me son training 3 times a week.

Cheers mate! Had the presentation at the end of it there, was real quite professional and ceremonial-like made you feel real nice about it have to say! Much more so than the previous grades/belts and I've got a nice big a3 size or so certificate to show for it. ;) Get your son to definitely stick at it, it took me years to finally get to it but the dedication is worth it, good for learning self-control too and for someone who always hated sport it's nice to have finally reached a decent skilled level at one! On a natural exercise high at the moment I guess. :)
 
@Watsons torment,how did your interview go for you, do u think it went well?
Heard back from mine today which was bloody quick cos interview was only on Thursday.Didn't get the job, fuckers.
So gonna cheer myself up with a few beers in the sun.

Does anybody know why regardless of where you wake up in Britain (or at least in urban Britain) on a late spring / early summer Saturday, the first distinct sound you make out is usually the sound of concrete being scraped?

Who the fuck is doing this concrete-scraping, and to what end?

It can't just be me because I've mentioned it to others and while nobody has an answer, everybody seems to acknowledge the phenomenon.

Scorchio indeed. Cold beer sound like a plan - and for once I still have a couple in the fridge from last night I didn't drink. Goodygood.

In synchonicity news, was only just chatting with Watson about TV licenses (specifically neither having nor needing one) t'other night and what pops through me doorflap this morning? Letter from TV license folk asking if I'm sure I still don't need one. We established Watson was in fact Old Bill last night but am know wondering if he works for the BBC licensing department on the side :sus:
 
Is it not mortar being mixed on building sites? The shovelling of sand?

My neighbour fills in when the workies are inactive by scraping the weeds from the steps leading to his front door with a shovel. It's infuriating. Like a mother hoovering at 10am on a Saturday.

Must be something along those lines - the domestic activity thing rather than any building activities, as there were none within the vicinity as far as I could tell.

Perhaps it's because I utterly fail to identify with the mentality that would drive people to be outside doing that kind of thing at those times rather than lying on their mate's couch being hit by waves of post-alcohol self-loathing and shame and smelling like raw sewage.
 
I got caught without a TV licence in about 1994.Bloke knocked on door saying did I have licence and of course I didn't so couldn't get out of that one.
Told him I would buy one the next day which I did and as while later I still got taken to court and was fined about £400 or thereabouts.
 
I'd always managed to blag licence van man whenever they came round until last year when nearly got caught out. Went with the traditional "I only use it for Playstation" line on the first visit - handily the Playstation was connected at the time not the telly aerial but the latter was clearly visible which is presumably why he came back a few days later trying to catch me on the hop. On that occasion I'd run out of leccy so told him the telly had broken. He tried again a coupla weeks later and - as luck would have it - they'd just switched to digital only round here and I have no freeview box, digital aerial or whatever so genuinely couldn't watch telly. He was not a happy licence man. I was a happy non-licence holder though =D

me too, loves it. Yeah glowing a bit :p not manic, just nice. tis strange how such a weird drug can make me feel spot on the next day. bizzare shit, was ready to flush it all yesterday, its fucking odd. saying that the batches i have are dodgy n i dunno which out of them are good n which are shit
