Well that was better than telly - good show, fellas :D

Shit in a shoe, eh? Whoulda thunk it.

I was in the school rugby team but have never to my knowledge drunk pooshoe beer. Being an under-14s middle-school team we stuck to turd 'n' tizer out of a trainer.

Kate: any mod naysayers to your own stance should be pointed to this thread to witness what happens when things are allowed to play out naturally. the world did not implode, and lots of other things .. 3 hours sleep in 48 hrs* has rendered me unable to bore everyone stupid ramble about it like I'm prone/would like to. you lucky people ;p

Man on Wire is on BBC2 in half an hour ... looks good, havent seen it ... probably already shouldve done. anyone seen?

* peevee while gardening related. having now tried it twice properly, i hate peevee. full stop. that's your fault Shambles. dunno why, but it is ;p

I remember intending to watch it but buggered if I can recall whether I ever did or not. Did look good but as I have no TV license it'd be illegal for me to watch it tonight yet perfectly fine to watch later tonight or tomorrow or whenever it's put up on iPlayer. Funny things are TV licences.

Oh I will unapprove and close threads if I think its going too far, and if there's an agenda going on that particularly nasty, or someone is obviously getting hurt, bashed etc etc. Often a close lets things cool down, but yeh words typed on a screen are just that and we really shouldn't get too het up about them - mostly lol. Each mod has their own line and part of the job is doing what you think is right at the time. We all make mistakes.

I'm not one for knee-jerk reactions as a rule.

Thanks for flu commiserations, its damn annoying.

Ok - who's up for a fight next? :D

I fell asleep half way though it last time and I can't be arsed to view it again, won a fuck loads of awards though if that counts for anything.

I don't have a TV license either shambles, fuck the BBC!

have you told them you don't have a tv or do you just ignore the letters like me?

Am not a fighting man but I'm happy to hold coats for those who are.

Further flu-riddance hopes, Kate. Had (non man-)flu a coupla months back that came with a horrid sore throat. Ick. You have my sympathies <3

Marmz: Can't be my fault Is the sworn duty of every Fiend to keep our numbers to a minimum so there's enough to go 'round. Clearly I failed there but the backup plan of ensuring you definitely wouldn't enjoy it clearly a success. Much as you don't know how it was my fault, I also don't know how I ensured you wouldn't like it but just did. With magic.

Watson: I got caught out by the licence van man just around the time they switched over to digital in Wales so when he came back for the follow-up check to make sure I wasn't lying about never watching telly it was unusable cos I've got no digital aerial or box or whatever. Can only watch TV on me 'puter and you don't need a licence for that. Ooh the hardship of having to wait til tomorrow to see what was on tonight :(

re: Man on Wire. too tired to pay attention and not capable of reading subtitles right now, but the Score being used is some of my fave Michael Nyman pieces, and originally used in The Cook, The Thief ... one of my fave films and film scores. ace stuff

Ahh I thought you needed a licence even if you only had a computer, because if you log onto iplayer you can still steam tv live or listen to the radio.

I don't have a digital aerial sorted either, hope that will stand me in good stead if they do ever come round and try to charge me the grand they've been threatening for a very long time, fuck tv - fuck the beeb!

Lack of a digital aerial not only meant no fine but also no more letters and visits - am officially a non-TV household. A non-TV household that only watches some TV anyway...

Ya, you're not allowed to stream live TV or radio if you don't have a licence but that's hardly a huge bugbear, to be honest. Actually find it rather handy cos it means you don't end up sat watching endless hours of shite just cos the telly's switched on. Having to make an actual conscious decision to watch summat does tend to draw attention to the sheer quantity of utter dross I'd no doubt have been watching otherwise. There's a whole world of difference between watching Cash in the Attic and having to click two or three things in order to choose to watch it by which time the moment of insanity has usually passed.

There's also other sites that stream live telly 9including the BBC channels) and don't ask about licences if live TV is a dealbreaker.

'kin ell Watsons. what the fuck is happening with your avatar. I sooo need to get some Zzzs in, but now I've noticed it I'm fucking doomed to stay awake indefinitely

hrmnp .. ... it's like the opposite of counting sheep, damn yer :(

[edit] ... oooo 4000 posts, just noticed. congrats er something. all of em killers & absolutely no fillerz, no doubt ;p

RIP Mr Gibbs :( Havin a bit of a Bee Gees-a-thon atm.

Feeling fucking good tho! Exams are done with, walked out of that one feeling like I'd done well, having few beers with housemate to celebrate, going out this weekend with woman and co, good times for real =D

edit: think this is gonna turn into a general disco day, quality :D

I was never a fan of the Bee Gees, so unlike the other famous folk who have died or had anniversaries recently rather than looking for an album to put on I've been looking for jokes haha. Not really came across any decent ones yet right enough.

This is the best so far

What's Robin Gibb up to these days?

Trying on Donna Summer's wigs

The "How Deep Is Your Bruv?" one has done the rounds of my workplace at least once. :\

Prolific songwriters they were, the Brothers Gibb - more prolific than a lot of people realise, especially in the late sixties. Growing up in the era that I did, the first encounter with them I can recall was when You Win Again came out. That song remains a (slightly) guilty pleasure to this day.

That drum machine...

Morning all! Great day so hoping once all this works out of the way I can chill a bit. Feeling great after the weekend for once which is always a bonus. Anyone doing anything interesting?

years ago my mum told me that the bee gees were deported to Australia for nicking car stereos, I believed it for all this time until this very moment when i just checked wikipedia. how could you lie to me mum :|

Sounds like you know how to enjoy a good summer'y day mate! Wouldn't mind having a wee hammock out the back myself, sounds perfect for a bit of reggae and spliffs.
