Haha, I know the acid debate is grating but cannae resist adding my twopennyworth...You're all correct I believe.

The way I remember it (and I'm well placed to do so, having been a pyschadelic travelling priest of the Order of the Great Ohm twixt around '85 til '91) is that if you were in the know, or if you were a traveller or knew them, you had access to acid of a quality pretty much unheard of since the early 90's. Was undoubtably a golden period, rose (multidimensional) tinted specs or not.

However, mass public availability of substances that previously catered for a niche and clued-up market exploded in the late 80's / early 90's, and the average quality of many undoubtably plummeted. For example while there used to ba a choice of Red Leb, Afghan Black, Charas etc at your local dealer suddenly soap bar was everywhere....apply to all recreationals and you're getting the flavour.

Oh, and the whizz was in a different league too
 
well i feel bit better after a nice hot shower and some green tea, got a nice spliff rolled and am thinking of donning the heads and get working on some tunes, my mate sent over a piece for us to do and its sounding so sick already :D

Did you see my posts about the southwest travelling scene back then?
It was not uncommon to get a choice of 6 Dif blotters at the Sites around Bath n Bristol .

People on site in those days had the easiest availibilty to Huge quantaties of Hash talkin multi kilos and thousands of Blotters etc .

If you never went to a proper travellers site then theirs no way you will comprehend sorry Sam you can't comment on a deeply underground drug and party scene you seem to have little or no knowledge of.

I prefered the Purple ones myself.

the Blotters were stronger in that period ON AVERAGE than know n it seems all the older folf are starting to creep ot the woodwork and many share my belief .#
Rose tinted or not.

Okay guys. I think this can only be resolved by an acid-eating contest followed by a lively debate. Until then, I think Sam's right, best change the subject before someone explodes :D

So, how does everyone feel about the quality of pills these days? :D ;)

I was just having a nice time remembering all the cool Parties that happened back then Spiral Tribe were a big fave. of some i'm sure .

it was the last proper revolutionary movement of significance & the only one that went down in my lifetime

I was in nappies when Punk came out .

Some people are still Travelling and partying these days that were back in the late 80s i think that fantastic.%)
 
I agree, I'd love to still be going 30 years from now %) my parents used to tour round all the free festivals every summer but they've pretty much quit it all since having me and my sister.

I like to reminisce about raves 3 years ago hehe..

There it is right there Brimz. You had access to acid that was NOT the AVERAGE! You had access to better acid than 99% of the population would have had access to. Therefore Sam's statement that THE AVERAGE acid today is stronger than THE AVERAGE acid back then rings true to me (I can get very strong acid if I try to, I am not part of any underground scene or living on any traveler sites, I am very much your AVERAGE person with the same access to drugs as the AVERAGE person). You state yourself that that scene was "deeply underground" so how can you comment on what acid was like for THE AVERAGE person in the early '90s?

Do you get it now?

Everyone bought Acid through travellers in the S/W back then .

It was an underground party scene FFS theirs no way your gonna understand unless you were part of it ok i said end off but you just don't get it .
Drugs were sold differently then no net very few mobiles so i don't expect you to understand

Eff - There's still a joints worth or so in amongst there. It's not exactly the lack of weed that's got me so raging, although that's not helping, it's more the fact that I've already paid for the weed which I do not have (& it wasn't a £20 bag if you know what I mean).

Two of my mates can get me decent stuff but they're not picking any up themselves until next week & it would be oh so fucking inconvenient for them to do me a favour & get me a bit when they don't need any wouldn't it? Pricks. Ha, I need to calm down. I almost sent my mate a proper "GET YOURSELF TO FUCK THEN" text when I got a reply saying "I'm not getting any till next week though" but I stopped myself in time because it was just slightly out of order.

I don't want to spend all today being fucking raging at everyone & all tomorrow having to apologise for things I've said while raging. Best if I just don't speak to people.
