Did I say you did? No. You certainly ended up on the receiving end of some name-calling though. Whether you're bothered about that or not is your business, but it's not what we're here for really, is it?

Yesterday evening we mods were having a drink, both to celebrate Effie joining the team and to commemorate six months since everything with Evad. Do you think it was fun to have to deal with the kind of negativity in that thread at the same time, to say nothing of the post-reporting shitstorm Monsta alludes to?

How about we have a poll run for the day and see how many people want that thread re-opened, this place isn't just for you or just for me it's for all that choose to visit.

So a poll until say 8pm seems fair and then we go with the majority decision....can I ask the moderators discuss this and come back with an answer as to whether they would support such a solution please, with sugar and all that on it
 
I also call for a re-opened Chaplaincy here in EADDland for reasons espoused above: P&S is far too genteel to discuss either P or S as a rule (sorry Ms Chin <3). Whack a stickyspoilerwarning thingy on it and let's have at it ;)

I didn't close your thread so don't come laying it at my door, however had I had the power to do so I would have done.

And you can't speak for Mr Weller even if you are a Christian.

Your just resorting to out right abuse, which you complain about when others do the same to you, if I was moding I ban you for a week just so we could all go about our usual jovial EADD business and have a break.

I still think a poll is the best solution, let the people decide as a collective

On a purely personal level, I can handle threads like that. This isn't my personal forum though (much as I forget that from time-to-time when under the influence) and we have to consider the effect a thread so inflammatory and divisive can have on the wider community, as atm says.

Don't forget that the 'atmosphere' of an individual thread can all to often spill over into the rest of the forum. Which was certainly the case here.

The fact remains that people were going to pick up on your 'god hates fags' posts, Yellla, and not want to take you seriously from then on.

Suppose that could be a tactic for if things get boring.. Do a religious thread!

Maybe due to the very fact they're open-minded and therefore resistant to the acceptance of Christian dogma as the ultimate objective truth you seem to regard it as?

Maybe I'll be less arsed about it at some other point too. But I really, really, really don't like curtailing of free speech so it spilled a tad. And am a stroppy fucker at times.

If someone comes up with a juicier topic I'll happily shutup and switch to it. I tried with the pissing thing but didn't fly too far. Sprayed a tad though...

I can assert boundaries when people take libertys though.. That includes defending the church. Several people were just posting on autopilot.. They didnt see me or what I have to say.. Just 'christian ' and all that that word evokes.
