well, gratitude isn't my motivation, and nor is discussing religion. I didn't post in your thread bar about twice, and they were posts to someone else I think and off topic.

I'm interested in open dialogue, and maintenance of such in a broader context than the subject matter of your thread. I'll never stop chirping about that btw. it's of fundamental importance to my mental well being.
 
Yep I was into open dialogue too.. I had some really sweet plans for that thread. I'm gutted.. not least by the cowardlyness of a several people and the firing of false accusations at me.

Also this solution was for a different time when women had to be virgins to marry.. Spinsters
spent their lives dependent of family or begging.

Shambles already said it, and I've said it before, your dialogue needs a lot of work for a discussion on your subject choice to be beneficial, productive or worthwhile. I can't see how you can have any hard feelings really, other than the actual thread closure.

while i don't like Blunsties approach to debating in many ways, he at least manages to keep a dialogue where shared meaning is optimised between himself and who he's debating with. without shared meaning and a familiar language or dialogue it just results in a whole host of misunderstanding. and you are accountable for that in this instance I believe.

it's up to the artist/opinion holder/projector to be able to reach their audience or people they wish to identify with. failure to reach them is solely on the artist shoulders.

and if a particular person is not your audience, then either stop communicating with them, or continue - whichever, but know that by continuing, youre just doing so for your own personal needs and it's no longer to do with making a valid point other than self satisfaction.

be as abstract as you want to be and attempt humour as you wish, but unless youre acutely aware and have the ability to be 100% sure of it hitting the mark and know how it's going to be received, then again, it's just a hindrance to making an actual serious point.

this isn't just about YOU. and this is not just your debate. there is a wider context and relevant underlying issues, and I'll comment where I please.

'it is what it is' is possibly my pet hate of all expressions. it's meaningless, and only ever used by people without full grasp on what theyre talking about.
