Just been here ^ for early evening cream tea with bodyguard cleaner, and general dogsbody/gimpess.

Popped in waitrose on way back and bought some lush food. Stuffed peppers with veg canneloni being cooked now by wonderful gimp. :)

She'd better feed the fuckin cats and put bin out before she leaves or shes fired!

sounds like that's her best hope tbh ;)

Marmalade, he sells eggs for 1.50 a dozen, and large ones for 2 quid a dozen.

At certain times of the year he sells the special ones for 2.20 a dozen. These are the ones that have double yolkers in their midst. And yes, they are large, sometimes in the box you can see a monster, that you know is gonna be a double yolker, but sometimes the double yolkers are no bigger than the standard large ones in the box. I dunno what the criteria are that makes the hens lay double yolkers, like I said, it seems to be seasonal. They are happy hens though :)

I can see the pros of state school, but the downsides are horrendous. The majority of my school day was spent watching my teachers perform crowd control.

^ yes but at least you can relate to and have something in common with the majority of the population & not just the minority elite. How can a GP who was privately educated possibly relate to the majority of his patients?

People think if they send their kids to private school they'll avoid sex & drugs but theres just as much if not more at private schools. And a lot of the parents don't give a shit, they're exempt from having to care cos they're shelling out up to £25k a year.

I met a young boy who went to Ampleforth College, one of his mates dads died of a cocaine overdose, and one mother rang at Christmas to say they were in the carribean and could the school just keep their son for Christmas :(

Its just a glorified dating & employment agency and I'd rather not have a pot to piss in than be a member.

If your kids has a modicum of intelligence & you're a decent parent you can get them out of secondary school with just as good if not better exam results than their privately educated peers. Reminds me of 8/10 cats, they were on about how Prince Harry has A levels in Art & Geography so he can colour in maps =D

I owe a large chunk of the early part of my sexual history to the rebellious urges of privately educated girls who wanted to sleep with some sink estate totty, but that's about the only positive I can see in a system that perpetuates the kind truly disgusting, inhumane, backward and barbaric inequalities that are seemingly ingrained in the British social structure.

The having something more in common with the rest of the population is a bit of an ungraspable or unquantifiable concept. I don't feel that benefit particularly. I know a couple of dozen privately educated people, and the majority of them are just normal with better career prospects. There are definitely a few who have no concept of money or the value of something, but I like to think I am one of the parents who could have a normal child come out of the other end. For instance the day my children come home saying 'yahhhh dadddyyy', they are getting back handed and locked in a cupboard for a month at the least. Now, having something in common with privately educated people, that is definitely valuable. It opens all sorts of doors, that would be open if they went to a comp but perhaps not as easily.

I don't doubt they could come out of a normal school with good grades, because both me and my wife did. The problem with most comps that I have encountered is that they don't go the extra mile. Once you've got good grades they just leave you. Once you're good at a sport, it's upto you to do it outside of school. Whereas in a private school it is a point of pride to push the already very good into excellence, or the mediocre into OK.

I am under no illusion that they won't get involved in sex and drugs at private school either. As for you knowing a child who was left at school over Christmas, i'm sure you have a few thousand stories up your sleeve that are a million times worse from your comprehensive school days? Children coming in after having been beaten up by their parents. Children's parents going away for a fortnight and leaving the 13 year old in charge of the house. If you were to compare the amount the parents give a shit about their children between my school and any private school, the private school would come out on top.

Even if it weren't for private schools, the social structure would continue. You only have to look at Guildford for that. The reason my school, and probably your school as well, was shit was because the intake was bad. There were a lot of children there capable of becoming rocket scientists who are now settling for becoming a recruitment agent. A positive that I see in private schooling, is that people have a place to send their children that won't fail them like the state does. Private schools have fed many of the greatest minds who ever lived into every field there is.

You've no idea badandwicked lol actually I had a new birth of sorts yesterday ( had a dream I went through birth as a lion cub 8o v traumatic, and wierd but lovely ) so i guess that makes me an honorary pisces. :)

The dream also incorperated giving birth to a lion cub.. I woke up covered in blood.. True story!

This is not true, or not in the case of my school.

A number of friends, and myself, were simply excluded from classes in which we were poor, or mediocre. We weren't good at sport either.

I regularly didn't attend school, my parents were never informed, I took it as a green light to take the piss, as did other underachievers.

If you weren't going to set the world of sport (rugby, cricket, or athletics) on fire, and nor were you heading for a "good" university, the school had little interest.

Thick as pigshit? Daddy got cash? Play Rugby?

Welcome to our school young man. Entrance Exam? No need for that sir.

That's all it is.

Fuck even grammar schools. Far too up themselves, too many rules, too robotic. Everyone is equal and should be treated so in my opinion, not have some teacher thinking they are better than you or ordering you about. If they don't like it being said to them, they shouldn't be allowed to say it to the person. Secondary Schools have enough rules that if you want to do well you can, but also be an individual at the same time.

likewise. used to run off and get stoned. sometimes returned back for a couple lessons absolutely blazed and fall asleep through the lessions, then nip off again for some chips and a doobie

I'v never met anyone called Tarquin or Farquar.

Did meet a Hector though.

Actually from my experience the teachers were the ones who talked most sense at school. Not the head teachers, not the pupils, but the teachers. As it happens my mum is a teacher, and she's been employed by both state and private schools. She talks more sense than anyone I know on most* topics.

*Excluding drugs, videogames and religion.

But the top schools have entrance exams, or you have to excel at sports, to get in. They make sure you start off at a good enough caliber for them to push you to get a full set of A*s. Most of the top schools get over 90% A*s at GCSE. http://www.best-schools.co.uk/league-tables/gcse-grades.aspx Did you go to private school then? If they don't like you, or you don't try, do they just say fuck you then?

^ MSB are you from Guilford? Do you remember when the headmaster of Charterhouse got caught with that prostitute? I know her. 50k she got paid for that story.

I'm not mate, but I wish I was. I just noticed that almost all of the top state schools in the country just so happen to be in Guildford, and other areas where there aren't classic estates.
