Hah, so do you want to name one place on earth that every single member of the community is faithful to one person? At best it was poorly thought out, there is no denying they caused problems in Africa. End of, we can agree to disagree but if you honestly think that your mad. I do not hate Catholics, I just do not understand how anyone can put faith in something that's done so much wrong, I'm leaving it at Africa last time. But the amount of young boys that were abused at their schools, only for the priests to be forgiven and put to another school to do the same thing to many others. This has been rife even higher up in the pecking order and the pope himself has forgiven his cardinal (spelling?) for doing such things. I'm sorry but nobody gets over that, if that was me I would dedicate my entire adult life to ruining all aspects of the person who did it's life and credibility. Equally these people's parents must have been pretty heartbroken too, the ones who knew where the kids hadn't just dealt with it on their own. For the good they've done vs the problems they've caused I would like to see their fortune spent putting some of these things right and helping people who need it, not stored in millions worth of paintings and gold locked in a basement.
The gulf in the amount religious and non religious give to charity? Is this based on your findings or is there any statistics/source to back this up. Fair play if you have one, I'd like to see it though. From what I have seen in my life with the people I know it's the exact opposite. They may put a bit of money in a church basket once a week but I doubt they'd give a homeless person a pound, probably the sort of people who would say all homeless are wino's I'd imagine. Andd the likes of charities for earthquake victims, cancer patients, orphans etc. Are they using their resources to check whether the people who donated the money are religious? I very much doubt it. And 52 atheist leaders killed more than every war put together, are you saying these people are the same as your average atheist? Thanks for the info but I don't really see how it was relevant to the conversation?
