hmmm are u the same as me and found the godfather to be too dull slow and boring where as others thought it to be awesome ?

if so we have the same tastes and will give it a miss
 
I was raking about my old flat for a lost gram of ching one time & came across a half gram of K instead, decided to rattle some of it while my flatmate was watching Schindler's List. Bad idea. I actually thought I was in the film sometimes & told my flatmate I was going outside for a fag because I was freaking out too much. Ended up sitting outside for half an hour because I was too para to go back in & watch more Schindler's List, she had to eventually come & get me to make sure I was ok. I wasn't lol.

Top tip - Don't watch Schindler's List on ket, it's not fun.
 
Not exactly freaky, just black n white, dull, depressing. I remember thinking it was a good film when I originally watched it years ago but I don't think I'd ever watch it again. I was only watching it that day because she was already watching it while I was tearing the flat apart looking for drugs. I was hardly going to say "Turn this depressing shite off so I can get full of ket on a Tuesday night" so just sat & watched it until I couldn't handle it anymore.
 
Years ago someone played me "20 Jazz Funk Greats" by Throbbing Gristle whilst on acid and followed with Hairway to Steven by the Buthole Surfers whilst off my face on acid.

Funnily enough although quite intense I enjoyed the experience and still love a bit of TG to this day.

Can remember sitting on a chair in a garden in the rain once on a black micro dot with dead bodies piling up all around me, again oddly it didn't really seem to weird at the time.

My Head couldn't take such things these days, there's enough going on in there already

Wow, I have totally lost any respect I had for you at all 8o You found the godfather to be dull slow and boring?????? It is an awesome feat of storytelling and filmmaking, it is legendary and i would have to say it is in my top 3 of films ever. Shocks me when people don't like it. Oh, and you can't compare it the Schinders List, SL is rather slow and can be a bit boring at times but is a great film nonetheless. It is not up there with my favourites but I wouldn't turn it off ot it were on.
 
i tried watching the godfather a number of times say 10 years ago but just couldnt get in to it maybe if its on TV sometime i will try it again but nah i just couldnt watch it without getting bored

i was more in to things like Donnie Brasco , Goodfellas, Casino,Resivoire dogs and scarface tbh and pulp fiction was my Fav film for many years back then too
 
Not sure how you could like all of those other filmls but not like the godfather, it is the king of Mafia movies, it can't be beaten, except for maybe Part 2, although when someone talks about the Godfather film I assume they mean both and and two.

Each to their own though, just amazes me that people don't like the Godfather.

Hmmm. I can see how some of those movies may be more appealing to a younger audience.

They certainly have a bit more dark humour and maybe appear to be a bit more slick, fast paced in parts and modern.

However, would those movies of ever existed in the first place without the Godfather?

I wonder...

what amazes me more is the ratings on IMDB and that i had an argument with about 10 others on their that scream 4 was utter shite and they argued the point that they were teens and act the same way they did in the film .. i just cant believe they all went and killed their cousins in jealousy tbh but hey they were arguing that thats how teenagers act spot on in the usa


sad very sad oh and they actually tried to compare the shining saying it was up in the top horrors with it xD .. then i just gave up and left them to it .. to compare the shining to scream 4 saying they were as good as each other maybe american teens doact the way they did in that film if they think that xD

so believe me mate there are worse critiques offilms and understanding of good talent and story telling out there , i actually think im pretty good at rating films just my taste is a little different but to argue what they did shows that the younger generation is happy to accept any pish acting due to who you know rather than having the talent to act and direct which is the way it used to be and should be

Did you take yor phone /internet access ? Somefolk will switch off when on hols , others take phone cos they have to .
Can be a nightmare i, take a net book when i co away , haven't got a smart phone, well netbook is fine small ,fits in hand lugage well mne anyway.
I Always make sure i get all my stuff in hand lugage even if i was leaving 4 a while.

I know, is good fishin over there in them shallow waters...you catch much? Any tarpon>? ;) Would love to catch a tarpon....

Went to Cuba a few years ago, great place, but I hadn't got into fishing at the time, dunno if I'll ever go back, would like to, but kickin meself I misssed out on fishin the Carribean
 
haha yeah i did need a break!!


i went online once the whole time i was there on someone elses computer. we were on a yacht close to hurricane season so didn't take any of my own stuff! i did take a couple of textbooks and a technical report that i need to turn into a paper... so didn't exactly 100% switch off but did v little work.


do you get worried taking stuff in hand luggage that you might have drug residue on your stuff? i got a random swab on my phone at the airport and shat myself, if i hadn't have been away with work the past 2 weekends there would have been something on there for sure!


mailmonkey- didn't do any fishing i'm afriad (vegetarian), though i'm sure its ace. i did do snorkelling which was cool. really want to go to cuba too, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I didn't buy anything illegal , met sum ozzies who had sum hash n it wasn't worth putting your life on the line 4.
The chemists were very accomadating for all my anxiety needs though once i'd tipped the tuk tuk driver;)

n i had already checked with the Embassy about my controlled drugs (Physeptone Pills) .
Some countries its not worth it n Sri Lanka is one , plenty of other stuff 2 do see anyway.
