Hi peeps, hope everyone is alright, surpringly hangover free after drinking last night, only got 3 cans remaining so might aswell polish them off this afternoon. Gonna relax and watch a couple of films then tomorrow will be the day that I start sorting things out, when there is no more pizza or alcohol, and there will be no more pizza or alcohol bought. Am looking forward to tomorrow, but also looking forward to my last day in the rut that I find myself in right now.
 
I can't make a decent pizza base, or buy a tasty one either. I'll have to put more practice in it because yeah, homemade is way tastier.

If you can be bothered to get a sourdough culture going, which is a piece of piss if you're slightly mindful of it, costs go down and artisanship goes up as smugness levels increase exponentially. I find it extremely interesting scientifically and it makes my mind spin back down the millenia-long path of this crazy symbiotic baking process we mainly take for granted. It's a bit like having a slimy slow motion tamagotchi to look after but they are not as labour intensive as some people would have you believe, mine needs 30 seconds of care about every 10 days and lives happily in the fridge. And yeah, practice makes perfect with the dough!

dark chocolate supposedly enhances the flavour. it is good, but i'm happy with my own chilli recipe which doesn't contain it, but does contain marmite and ketchup.

i'd argue its not like putting sugar on your sausages.... cos i'm a pedant and dark chocolate has very little and ideally no sugar.

Late response but Yep, I think I'll stick to my own recipe that doesn't contain anything resembling chocolate...sugary or otherwise - for the pedants out there ;)

Now Marmite on the other hand....an essential ingredient in many things savoury. My gravy recipe would blow your mind =D

I'm honoured to be part of the thread title and bread's come up in the I'm fucked megathread so synchronicity says it's time to write down a simple guide on....

How to make your own slow motion tamagotchi (aka sourdough culture)

Strong Flour
Water
A wide mouthed jar with lid (0.75l should be ample)

What you're doing here is trying to capture and cultivate wild yeast. If all goes to plan the yeast will colonise the jar fast enough that they force out other funghi and bacteria and keep them out permanently. The yeast need food (flour) and moisture and a reasonably warm temperature to get going. They need food and water from time to time to keep going. The yeast may come from the air, you or the flour you start the process off with. Wholemeal flour is often recommended as a starter as it is meant to contain more live yeasts but I've done this with regular white/brown bread flour.

Put about a cup of flour and a cup of water in the jar, leave jar with lid off. If you can be arsed use mineral water or another source without chlorine but it works fine with tap water IME.

12hrs later discard half and top up with flour/water.

12hrs later look for signs of yeast, ie bubbles, the whole shebang 'rising' a bit and a beery smell. Either way discard half and top up with flour/water again. If no bubbles / beery smell, continue with the 12hr waits / top ups until you either get to the beery stage or get bored / forget about it.

If you have got to the bubbles / beery smell stage you've arrived. Top up the jar til about 3/4 full with 50/50 flour and water.

Refrigerate the jar making sure you leave the lid resting on the top so that co2 can escape. The fridge slows down the yeast so that it doesn't poison itself with alcohol too fast. You can feed it every ten days or so by discarding about 1/3 - 1/2 of it and replenishing with fresh flour and water. You may also tip off any brownish liquid which forms (this contains excess alcohol). Keep it wet, should be sloppier than dough but dryer than soup.

To use in recipes take out about 1/3 - 1/2 and mix with flour, oil, salt and whatever else is in your bread, replenishing the jar with as much flour/water as you've taken out. Leave dough overnight to rise (this takes longer than with commercial yeast strains). Bake as per your bread / pizza recipe. Look up sourdough recipes online for more info.

work is dragging, i have like hot and cold flushes followed by being extremely hot or extremely cold, and shivering in this heat, wtf is going on with me?! all i did this w/end was k mandy acid and nos, only a tiny bit of mandy too, just to wake me up.. urgh fuck this feels nastier then a comedown, i keep thinking its the hash i got from Goa, maybe cut with opium as i noticed after a biiig bong my eyes sorta pinned and i was very comfortable..who knows..all i know is i wanna feel better, still need to go do the blood and piss thing at the hosp, urgh that means going through the hassle of booking a day off cuz in all honesty i dont see myself doing a Saturday journey..

fuck this shit i wanna go home :(

lol, what I wouldn't give for access to that this previous weekend. I can imagine that you would definitely be feeling the effects of a comedown.

It could just you being run down generally: Are you eating enough good meals and sleeping well after these binges?
And yea why the fuck not go get a blood test? :) It's always a wise thing to do as even if there's nothing to be really worried about you can get results of any potential vitamin / mineral deficiencies you may be experiencing.

No it wouldn't. Besides, you'd have to smoke a hell of a lot of it over a long period in order to feel any withdrawal whatsoever.

Sounds like the Tuesday Blues to me, albeit a day early. I'd spend next weekend relaxing and staying away from certain drugs if I were you. Have a weekend with a smoke, some benzos and maybe some opioids if you feel the need.

yea guys i think i will be chilling this weekend, its all catching up, forgot to mention i also cained 100mg of spice too and had a vallie or 2, but yea maybe your right sam, comedown time :( ah well leaving work in less then 13 mins so its not too bad, and then hopefully a good meal but i dont wanna be around gf's family feeling like this :(

but yea the hash i got is direct from goa and my gf noticed a latexy taste from her first bong which is why i though it coulda been cut with opium, and we did go through bout 3g of it too so i dunno, cheers for the support guys :)
im sure a good nights sleep and plenty of water and good food will sort me, been ill for like the last month and lost over 2 stone which isnt good but im in better shape then i was..every cloud..

Am I missing out by starting at the second season, first episode. I'm gonna watch it now anyway after that glowing recommendation :) Hopefully I wont have had to have seen all of series 1 for it to still be good now.
