Waking up with a completely clear head on a Sunday. Quite a novelty really.

Clear skies, sunshine and it's already very warm around here. I may have to get outside in a bit, though drinking is off the cards. Enjoy your respective Sundays everybody...

Aye, you see what I did there? ;)

Meh, what do I know. I don't like blues too much. I just thought you took them everytime you had a hang over.

I take them before I get the hangover - down a load of water, crash out, and sleep through all the stomach sick, thirsty, headachy nastiness - awake refreshed and revitalised, ready to do it all again. God alcohol is a nasty drug.

hangover cure for me is aspirin, omeprazole and 1l of water, before sleep. then you drop out and early morning a bigt breakfast and im good. but im not drinking that much anymore. getting old and drinking dont go that well together.

its fucking cold here man, 13C in july?? what is this, norway? i should be naked running thorugh fields, but no, have to stay in because its raining.

as for stella cider- its ok but not great.

did my first night without alcohol in 10 days yesterday, the previous one being the first any in fucknowshowlong. it was worrying really fucking difficult. had 1 diaz. which is less than i was previoiusly having on weekends with alcohol on top so think i did well. but feel like a retard.

Thanks for the replies, think I will pop over tesco later and get some Stella cider to see what I think of it.

How did it get to be Sunday already? Weekend goes far too quick. Spose got all day today left to enjoy before back at work tomorrow and only a 3 day week to endure! :D

Have knocked up some chile con carne thats bubbling away in the slow cooker, will leave that going all day and have it later or tomorrow. Munching on some cold pizza now and contemplating going to Co-Op for bevvie.

made a nice chill con carne over the wend.

mince beef
onions
garlic
red pepper
chillies
tin of tomatoes
tomatoe puree
beef stock cube
tin kidney beans
ground cumin
oregano
dark chocolate
water
salt and black pepper.

needs ground corriander! - wibble, having not signed effie out like a goon

My chile con carne has all that bogman mentioned but also ground coriander, cinammon, paprika, dark choc, worcestershire & tobasco sauce & fresh coriander leaves, it will be served with rice, wholemeal toasted pitta breads, sour cream, spicy & tangy salsa and jalapenos. It will be epic, I think I'll leave it slow cooking to late tonight and then eat it tomorrow and the next few days for lunch at work.

What's with the dark chocolate in chilli?? That's like putting sugar on sausages 8o Mind you, I heard of someone making a sausage trifle the other day. The world's gone mad....

A pretty standard thing to put in chili con carne mate. I always use it. Tastes great.

dark chocolate supposedly enhances the flavour. it is good, but i'm happy with my own chilli recipe which doesn't contain it, but does contain marmite and ketchup.

i'd argue its not like putting sugar on your sausages.... cos i'm a pedant and dark chocolate has very little and ideally no sugar.
