Random MSN Gibberings LVII - What Does B&W Stand For, Mummy?

(Un)Fortunately I'm still able to drink like a navvy and make it in for a day's work. The only major difference I've noticed is that I appreciate the clarity of mind and the freshness that comes with waking up after a booze-free night.

Then again, a half-bottle of Lamb's Navy Rum (or however much I could get down me in my extended morning routine) used to be my breakfast. Wouldn't go back to those days at all.

Check out my alcohol dicksizing, folks. :D

Oh, and Chinup - I struggle with 2+2 at the best of times, let alone anything more complex than that. So no need to feel remotely stupid. At all.

My ability to process alcohol has gone wrong in the last few years - when I was a 9 to 5 er I could be in the office the next day after ten pints of stella and three hours of sleep. Granted I'd feel like shit but my brain still worked and I could struggle through the day especially if I sneaked out for a smoke. Now if I have more than 3-4 pints, and even that's a lottery sometimes, I'll sleep like shit and feel brain dead the next day. I think it's a post 30 thing.

I haven't even reached 30 and I'm almost completely unable to function the day after drinking now...and I don't even have a job to go to! Used to stay out drinking and drugging all night and right through the next day till 4pm with no sleep, go into work for 6hrs put a shift in and then head back out and do it all over again before going back into work on Sunday afternoon. It would never happen nowadays, I can barely think straight and keep on freaking out and feeling anxious as fuck.

^ Do you think that might have anything to do with your fondness for valium? Just wondering. I went through a phase of ridiculous anxiety on hangovers but it seems to have cleared up now. Now I just feel like dogshit as opposed to dogshit which gets sudden brutal flashes of its own mortality.

Well done on deleting those b & w numbers, in had to change my phone number to get away from those sorts of people!

It may do. I definitely got into the habit of taking them for hangovers so maybe when I don't it just makes the hangover seem that much worse. I go through periods (like now) when I rarely take any blues and then other periods where they get taken all the time (when travelling).

On a completely unrelated to anything note!..... I've decided on the name of my album that will be created at some bloody point and released on Methodology Recordings...

"Bass, Space, Pace & Peace"
:)

What gave you the idea that I'm fond of valium? :D

It certainly plays its part, but I've always been idiosyncratic and unpredictable hangover-wise. I can drink four pints and feel a bit shitty the next morning or (as once happened in student days) wake up lying on my broken-in door after a whiskey binge feeling confused but otherwise fantastic. Frustrating.

Must admit that when I do get a hangover these days I've been known to whimper and almost cry. So northern hard-man I ain't... entirely.

That has a good ring to it Monsta, and it feels good to say it out loud.

Alliteration and bilabial plosives ftw...

Why thankyou Sir Sam :) (A little more alliteration for you there ;) ).
It's been a bit of a personal mantra for years so I thought there's nothing much more appropriate :)

He likely was, Sam's just collosally egotistical :P =D~♥

Everyone's talking to me, y'know? ;)

He was talkin' to you Spade, though I have no idea why...

I just can't let the opportunity to tell tales of manly drinking escapades go amiss. Even if it involves answering questions posed to other people. Just that much of a twat, I am. :D

im fond of valium, i just got some generics which are damn strong, but due to previous benzo problems i need to calm down sharpish before im gobbling them daily again, which was probably the worst time of my life lol.

i'm similar with spirits, but don't really drink them when i'm out cos i drink them too quickly, it adds up... some things def cause worse hangovers than others. some ports and weird beers make me bright red after a half, though not drunk at all, and i know even if i stop drinking then i'll have a horrible hangover. bizarrely i also find that tap beer is worse than its prepackaged equivalents

It's the "brown drinks" that gives the worst hangovers due to a certain tannin... Or something... =D That was helpful ay? 8)
I prefer to drink spirits these days purely due to it being less liquid for more Ethanol. Not a good thing mind!

Depends on the beer, chinup - it's frightening to see what actually goes into some UK beers. That goes for foreign brands brewed under licence here too. If I drank UK Grolsch all night I'd definitely feel shittier than with Dutch Grolsch, purely because of adjuncts and what-have-you.

Wine? I can feel sick off a single glass. Ever considered the possibility of allergies? You probably have.

As for tap beer, some of the pubs cashing in on the 'real ale' boom are serving vinegar because they have no idea how to keep a cellar. I've seen people happily sup it and 'revel in the flavours' when it's blatantly off.

When I've stopped laughing, my massive ego will start wondering whether that was directed at anyone in particular. =D
