Indeed, Spadey. Seems stooopid that in all the wide world of web there's nowt that just jumps out and entertains me. So frustrating losing all those bookmarks. Had bazillions to keep me going. Can I remember the names of any of the actual sites? Of course not. Why don't websites have proper names like Kevin or Fred or Terry or Margaret or Ethel or Doris? So much easier to remember.

Suppose I could whip out me PS2 but being half-cut is a shit state for trying to play games. Just get frustrated at lack of co-ordination really.
 
What sort of websites did you have in your bookmarks that you've lost?

There's a Wii here but I couldn't figure out how to get it working the other day and all the games are shite, pointless 'party' games with no depth. Bored of them after a couple of minutes.
 
Had all sorts, Spadey. Nowt special but various forums, sites of general amusement, interest and astonishment, sites to titillate the ol' grey matter, online games for gigglez - just stuff accumulated over the last few years. Which was a lot. Although the vendor sites will probably be most missed in the long run :D
 
Fuck, just woke up wide awake at this stupid time. Looks like DHC is gonna be my friend this morning.
 
Shambles: I recommend Metafilter. Good discussion about a range of topics. Probably quite active at 1.30am our time, with all the Yanks and Aussies up.

In other news. Saw a Greenday Bracelet, You know those rubber bangle type things that are usually for causes. Was gonna buy it for a family member as they're really into greenday. £10.00!! Fucking a tenner for a round bit of rubber. FUCK RIGHT OFF!

Tsssk that's a bit much for a rubber band, I bet only 20 per cent of it went to the actual cause too!

My mate got box loads made up recently for the premature babies unit that took care/still takes care of her son, She's selling them for 2.50, and paid next to nowt to have them made.

I've a feeling the Spade's criticism of me would have had something to do with benefits of some sort.

Like I said at the time, and therefore the inspiration for the new gibberings thread title, 'Until You've Lived It Like, Divn't Preach It'. My sentiments exactly.

What cause?? They were Green Day bracelets. Fucking shite band, if they were Burn Green Day bracelets I'd have bought 100.

Those rubber bands things are fucking stupid & anyone that wears one is a wanker. If you want to donate money to something then do it, but don't wear a shitey rubber band round your wrist to advertise the fact.
 
That's the thing it wasn't a cause. Well other than to promote their new album! Total shite!

PT: I'm not going to call a 9 year old a retard wanker for wearing a band. He's a kid ffs. :D
 
PT, When my friend had some made up, it was to raise money for the premature babies unit. I suppose it just makes people feel like they've got something back for the money they've given, and some people (especially my friend and her mates who bought them) would maybe get comfort from it. That's what I was talking about.....if you read my post properly. ;)

I bought one from her, but I don't wear the bracelet, I actually don't have it. I told her not to bother sending it to me and use it to raise more money.

Ahhh I'm guilty for not reading Sadies post properly. She said the ones that are USUALLY for causes. Oops. It's a specs morning this morning like. Tenner is ridiculous. A 9 year old loving green day is not daft though.

Yeah Cherry, I know what you mean about getting something for supporting a cause. I mean they do the poppies every year and now daffodils for something, not sure. So, in a way it's the same thing only worn on a different part of the body.

Exactly, that's why my mate made up those bracelets, as she's gone through such a hard time with her baba, and still is. It's something close to her and her mates hearts.

Bluelight and facebook are distracting me from CV beautifying. *SLAPS WRIST* This is EXACTLY what used to happen when I was at work! I think i'll have another cuppa then get on with it, I am the Queen of procrastonation.

I need to sort my CV out and send it. What are you supposed to write on cover letters again and how neccessary are they?
 
Very Necessary, a cover letter is your chance to sell yourself. People get sick of seeing endless CV's, they might not even look at your CV if you've not included a covering letter.

I'm just about to write one, once i've dashed into town. I'll find you some templates when I get back. I'm good at that sort of thing apparently. I went to a Next Step session with the dole, and learnt a lot.

I just use the same cover letter that I've written, then change it to suit each job. The hard part is just getting one done. Once you've done it, life's easy.

I've nothing against the person selling them to raise money or the people that buy them really, it's the people that actually wear them that I hate. It's not like they look good & cunts just wear them as a shit fashion accessory or to feel like a smug cunt for donating a few quid to charity. Just give the money, you don't need to get anything in return & you don't need to advertise that you donated the money!!!

I don't think people would ask about it tbh, maybe when they first started punting those things then people would have asked about it but not now, they're standard, you see thousands of people wearing them & they all look like dicks!!

Not random folk ffs. I don't speak to randoms too much if I can help it. I mean people with in my circle and those in theirs that ask. people do at house parties and days out etc.


I'm not talking about waiting for a bus and having some oddball ask me what my bracelet means. Who does that? I wear bangles all the time no one notices them.
