one of my favourite places in the world
cant wait to go back

its amazing

im in love with it (and in love with the coral reefs and diving/snorkelling around the tiran island - which is wedged between sharm el sheikh in egypt and the west coast of saudi arabia)
 
Jealous! Egypt's on my list, which is a short list because travel doesn't agree with me.

My dad speaks highly of the diving from when he worked in Saudi. You're a lucky soul.
 
the diving and snorkelling in and around sharm el sheikh is like nothing i have ever seen
it was absolutely fascinating, no pics or videos or text will be able to describe it
looking at the coral reefs living among the 1000s of multicoloured tropical fish was like the best visuals ive ever seen, and it was all real and totally refreshing

i sort of feel like a new person after discovering this sub marine world that i only sort of knew existed

puts things into perspective when you look at the world as a whole

besides that the food, locals, scenery and weather are all everything one could ever ask for (in march at least!)

i didnt go to cairo or see the pyramids, all that is going to happen on my next trip. we only had a week there and didnt want to rush things for the sake of ticking it off a list.... it was a relaxing week moreso than one crammed full of travel - we were 8 hours by bus south of cairo.

hash is also plentiful, of good quality and cheap for those who like a toke - and with egypt being a military state now, the police are no longer there to break any balls. theres a massive atmosphere of enthusiasm and hope around the place and the locals seem to be really enjoying experiencing being a part of a revolutionary generation.

Sounds and looks good mate, have heard the coral reef and marine line off egypt is some of the best in the world. I've only ever snorkelled the barrier reef and that was out of this world for me, felt like being in a dream.

Bad stuff be gwaan - Been drinking everynight for the past 2 weeks :\ Cutting down on the Benzos is really, really hard. I just feel so tense and anxious all the time and that's even when I'm taking more than I'm supposed to :|
..... Gunna have to tell my doc.... :(

Good news though - I'm gunna be playing a set at "Tea and Cake gathering" next month ^_^ It's the event that my mate's setting up at a place she does volunteer work at (youth worker based stuff) and I'll be doing an Ambient set at which I've always wanted to do :)

I'd wondered why you'd not been around as much. Cutting down benzos is utter shite - I've had a similar experience (bit nowhere near as bad) recently and it ain't the best.

Give me a slap or something if you're feeling really bad. ;)

Yea, the Benzo cutting isn't going well. I'm down from 20mg of Diaz to 8mg of Diaz + 10mg of Temaz (which isn't doing anything) now, and I'm rather worried at cutting down any futher next week :\
After the Benzos there's the 120mg twice a day of Codeine to cut out, plus still using the occassional bag of gear too...
It saved my sanity at the time and I'd have lost myself at that time if I hadn't have requested the prescriptions (with loads of gear and booze - twas the lesser of two evils), but one must deal with the consequences. Just not sure I can do it :\

Yea I always know that I've got many people around me to vent about this shit to, but for some reason whenever I feel crap I just isolate myself (hence not being around much).
It's utterly stupid of me but it's just what my brain does **Shrugs**

Malcolm Midleton's great. Arab Strap were one of my teenage fantasy bands that magically came true. Helped bust me out of goth-hood too.
