well i guess good mornernoon everyone lol

hahah, not heard that fake word before, I like it mornernoon =D

I managed to get the Rosetta Stone application downloaded, and Daemon tools so I could pretend the lessons were on a DVD. Now time to see how "crap" these lessons will be. Even if they are crap it will at least give me a small understanding of the language before I go to proper lessons.

Yeah, taking on someone elses problems to escape your own has been something that I have done in the distant past too.

What sort of things did you get from freecycle? Did you get any saucepans or roasting tins or much for the kitchen? or was it mainly for the living room and stuff?

I got a 26inch silver TV, TV stand, Sony Separates worth about 100 quid with two 600 watt, and two 500 watt speakers, champagne cases for storage, Toaster, Retro 1980's Fridge Freezer from a lovely old lady, the thing is only 5 years younger than me, I love it!, decent plates, Oven tray, Lasagna dish, Cast Iron cooking pot, Banana plant (which someone on here said I'd end up killing, it's still going strong and doing well, sprouting new leaves each week!) a pine storage chest, which I use to sit my sub on and bits and bobs.

I moved into this flat with only a few bags of clothes and a few personal sentimental items and decorations, and made it my challenge to furnish it as much as I could for free. I pretty much succeeded. Only things I paid for were Pretty brand new 2nd hand IKEA sofa, for 40 quid, 200 quid bed (moving in present from dad who I never see) and some 12 quid shelves from Ikea, a mini washing machine, and I was gifted a mini oven after going without one for 3 months! so, I did it!

Now i'm off to check the freecycle updates ;)

I like that a lot, Smacko. Are those fairy lights in places? They don't look like it at first though, they give it a brilliant sci-fi / mechanical edge. I think the top might be slightly busy with all the little circles but it's really really good overall. I know what it's like when you've got 60 layers and basically closing your eyes you still see the same thing you've been staring at all night. Well done.

theres no fairy lights in it but the parts im thinking your meaning are some c4d renders , im thinking i might try change the top to look more like a nebula or something along that lines , its a nightmare though cos i sold my PC that had all my art resources on it and i mean thousands of them and now i have hardly any renders or stock to work with, i still have my old hard drives with them but thats no use with out an external HDD reader

Once ive done more i will post it up

I take it you do a bit of art your self since you said you know what its like with heaps of layers open ?

Yeah, better than it ending up in landfill if there's no value in selling it. Bristol is THE most recycle friendly city i've ever lived in. You can be walking past someones house, and they'll have left bits and bobs on their front wall, with a sign saying 'Please take away if you have a use for them'. My boyfriend got some nice shelves the other day, a pair of brand new shell toe ADIDAS trainers, with see through sole, and I got a much needed white lampshade for my bedroom which I need to throw paint all over Jackson Pollock style!

I'm still waiting on getting the rest of my belongings sent down to me out of storage from my dads place, but I need to see what happens with this eviction thing to see f they're going to push for it. If it happens, i'll be squatting with some mates, and I don't want loads of stuff with me.

yeah just go to http://www.uk.freecycle.org/ and sign up and find a local group, you can give away and receive free stuff. A lot of things go really fast though.

Don't take stuff to sell on ebay though, that is not nice. People do this out of kindness for people that need the stuff. I guess you need the value of the stuff.

There's loads of elitism and 'you must obey the etiquette' on freecycle. Some people actually work through a list of people who have asked for an item, mostly if it's an expensive one like a computer, and who seem most in need. That's fair. A family may really be struggling to afford one for their kid for school.

I think you can sell it on ebay, as long as you tell the person this is your intention before you take the item away, then they can decide if they want you to have it or not. People blatantly do it though!

Just mowed the lawn and brought the dog for a walk. weather so changeable here , pissing one minute, sun beams the next,
feel much better getting some air and exercise though :)

Sounds great, I wanna be in brizzle, for the free stuff and the great people, they do have a massive micro lab in brizzle too actually which is also ran by the HPA so it wouldn't be a pay drop. Might have a little gander at the website see if there are any vacancies, pretty sure they do on site accomodation at brizzle hospital too.

Hope everything goes well and you don't get evicted. Use the power of positive thought to make sure you stay where you are. :)

Once you come to bristol you never leave! Everyone says that. It happened to me, usually I only stay in a city for Six months or a little more then I move on, but Bristol has got into my heart and soul. I'd recommend it to anyone, though not if you're a complete and utter hedonist like me. My drug taking has increased x10 and onto harder drugs.

I got a job in the Bio Chem lab at Bristol Hospital, but one of my references let me down. Yeah, they do have staff accomodation.

Bristol Love They's my streets they is, I love this city. I feel like I know it better than my home cities of Newcastle and Co Durham!

Woooo, finally got Rosetta Stone to work, I really want to go out and test out my spy glasses though. Maybe I will wear them on a wak to the shop to a couple more bottles of cider, then learn some spanish when I get back.

I couldn't give you my proper opinion here has that wouldn't be harm reduction. But chances are they are cowards as they had to attack you in a group, and with that consider your actions.

I never like the grass, even for a violent action like this.

But ime police start off all innocent then just use you.

Plus these arnt friendly people/dealers who would not take kindly to me grassing them up.

I hate to say it but i might just have to let this one lie, even though is was quite a traumatic event for me :(
