hiding in a booth
spying
being sneaky
completly oblivious to my observations
they banter back and forth
i smile with a fondnesss for them all
kat's chatter
tracy's bobbing
and tanya's pig-tailed smile
piercy's rolling (of course)
stan and selket
side by side
as always
norm lurking somewhere near by
sue must be off wandering again
that girl is always looking for something
this is us.

tall
proud
sturdy
but most of all
she stands
unchanged
almost as if
frozen in time
waiting for me to come dance by her

pink hearts and golden bulls
red lanterns and plush booths
unfinished cigarretts
scattered half-empty water bottles
scattered people
scattered minds

"dude. if i wanted freakin' cheese i'd go buy some damn nachos!"
(me referring to a certain hollywood club)
"this place is like you favorite comfy pair of jeans. it justs fits us well"
(me referring to la ha)

in my sanctuary
in my dream
in my world
in my head

perpetual wanderer
standing still for the moment
perplexed
muddled
feet stuck to floor
in a puddle of uncertainty

back to insanity
party all night
and sometimes all day

back to familiarty

back sore jaws
back to dizzy heads
and never ever
enough sleep
