i've been taking oxycodone once or twice a week for the last month or so. for a while it gave me amazing euphoric sensations, but now lately i've been having bad side effects that i never used to get. i get insomnia and mood swings that make me horribly cranky, when before it used to be the exact opposite. what could have caused the sudden change? could i have been getting a different brand without noticing, and that caused it? or something else? please help me!

weird.

trouble sleeping is pretty common on oxy though. don't have it myself--sleep like a baby on a cloud. but people mention it here all the time.

As the level of drugs in you fluctuates, your mood changes, and if you are becoming less high, then you may be cranky about that.

Oxycodone is known to be one, if not the most stimulating of the opiates. Many people, including myself, have trouble sleeping after consuming larger doses of oxycodone.

I did not have these side effects until my tolerance was a little higher, so maybe that is part of the cause.

I know alot of people love Oxycodone but I am not one of those people. I prefer Hydrocodone because Oxy like you stated gives you that edgy & cranky feeling after you have used it several times. I never felt the euphoria others feel on Oxy.

Imo, if you want to feel amazing euphoria, try Levorphanol, you will not be disappointed & its amazing & lasts twice as long as Oxy or Hydro.

Different opiates affect people differently. As other posters have mentioned, oxycodone is one of the more stimulating opiates.

This thread, and this thread many be of interest to you.

If you're finding that oxycodone is causing more negative effects than positive ones, its probably time you stop using oxycodone...

thanks guys, you've got some good points, i definitely think im going to be taking an oxy break for a while.

Once I started becoming tolerant to the effects of oxycodone I would become moody at times and sometimes irritated with people, especially anyone speaking out of turn or saying annoying things. Or perhaps telling me to do things. I usually just wanted to do what "I" wanted to do. Sometimes I'd have hard times falling asleep or staying asleep. These side effects should have been enough to warn me to stop using but I didn't. Now I'm hooked. I'd recommend you stop if you feel they are becoming too bothersome.
