-racetams an antidote for benzo cognitive effects?

Not on a train, sadly.
I do not use the -racetams just for the sake of using them, because I find that if I take them for more than 3 days I plunge into depression.

Oh, and they never made me any smarter ;)

Now to the point: I noticed, however, that if I take 800mg of Oxiracetam after 10-20mg of Diazepam, I find that all the drowsey and memory/cognitive impairments gone, with the anxiolytic and relaxant effects intact. I have done this several times.

A friend also took the same dose before sleep after a night of drinking, and woke up without a hangover (whereas otherwise he always does).

Both oxiracetam and nefiracetam were found to almost completely nullify Ketamine.

Comments?

I have no research to point you at, but my experience with piracetam & benzos has been similar (minus the plunge into a pit of despair). It certainly didn't weaken ketamine any though, in fact it seemed stronger and far more alien than normal. I've had K on piracetam enough to feel pretty confident it is not a fluke or random atypical reaction. I pretty much always take ketamine in the same setting: middle of the night, in a camp/lounge chair on my back deck or down off to the side looking up at the treetops and stars.

it does the same with marijuana, and a single day of piracetam / oxiracetam will remove the brain fog of 3 weeks of heavy smoking, or almost.

I've been taking high dose -racetams for quite some time (1600mg Oxiracetam and 1500mg Aniracetam daily) and find them very effective in this regard (also to prevent any problems from the L-DOPA supplement I take).

Why do you supplement with l-dopa? That is a somewhat dangerous compound to play around with if you don't need it. Even if you do need it (ie you have parkinson's), your brain chemistry can still go horribly out of whack (and you can develop schizophrenic symptoms).

I've used piracetam for awhile now...and I find it feels like it has some protective qualities to it. I've combined it with: 5-MeO-MiPT, 2CB, hydergine, DMAE, DPT, DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, 4-AcO-DMT, bk-MDMA, 2CD, mushrooms, LSD, amphetamine, and probably a few others. I like it since it allows me to take less of the ones that release monoamines (so its healthier long-term).

I wouldn't recommend combining it with PEAs, since that resulted in a pretty horrible trip (w 2CB) that entailed tremors and convulsive like spasms of my arms and legs.

I have found it to be very effective in treating my depression (which tends to be quite severe, being something like a cross between Major Depression, Dysthymia, and Cyclothymia) and the accompanying avolition.

Also, the dose I take is smaller than that used in treating Parkinson's.

I find the benefit to be great enough that it is worth the risk of developing a schizophreniform disorder (no such symptoms have arisen, however); having lived 82% of my life as a horrifically depressed, asocial, shut-in, I like being able to enjoy life.

Well, best of luck...perhaps getting blood levels checked every once in awhile or something (I'm not a doctor I dont know)....professional therapy?

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, though.......stay safe.

Hmm..

Ya know, out of all the 'racetam's i've experimented with, suprisingly piracetam, if taken daily really did work good. I remember one particular night, a friend came by, but the cell phone rang i picked it up, talking to my ex-girlfriend she was going to give me a phone number to write down. Well my friend kept talking, but unlike "normal/usually", when listening to something to write on paper on the phone normally i'm more like a computer, switching between listening to parts of it, then focusing on writing it down / switching back to listening like a computer CPU switching around but just one CPU core.

Well it was like I had multiple cores, i could truely multitask... my hand was writing the phone number down as i had FULL attention at the same time to the sound from the phone, while, i FULLY was able to listen all of this independently, and, part of my mind was able to kind of step back and have the thoughts of "wow! awesome i'm able to do this!", true parallel processing...

Most of the time (not taking piracetam now) i'm more like a single core computer, focusing on one thing at a time, if there's something else going on i'm listening and recording it into short term memory but do have to "switch focus" to that program, but yet now i know this is possible with out the piracetam.. just takes practice, letting your mind split and different parts run different programs.

My sister has a photographic memory, and i was unaware, but i have a giant Tool 10,000 days alex grey poster in my room up (btw, came to detroit on my b-day 7/3 , *WOW hehe...10,000 times better show than last time!"), but told me later that there were exactly 10,000 little spiral universes/galaxies in the poster, she counted them, but she is able to do this - have part of her brain thats idle i guess, just start counting from the image in memory - while she's just having a normal conversation with me. Incredible thing to easily be able to do (and effortless pretty much).

She also can meditate all the time if she wants where she's fully automated (synchronized with the universe) and more of an observer, in this state she knows all (told me how she does it, rather than sit eyes closed etc she does the opposite opens up her whole mind doesn't stop thinking lets it just run, it gets deeper and deeper to boom flowing.. kinda like wow , wow, insights etc until its too much information then she's in the zone.

-- kinda went off topic (heh, i do that a lot), i take 4mg or more a day of clonazepam and honestly don't notice much, memory has always been fine. I've been through benzo w/d a couple times and its pure hell, but i'm not shy as i was when i started, I have a great dr. that (actually cares? hard to find these days) brought up some other things might not be actual anxiety when I explain the symptoms I get weaning off or even been off,

Can't imagine functioning without benzo's though, months off them its still very hard to concentrate and think, or be motivated, relaxed, very insensitive (10mg xanax, does not help much with sleep more like 20mg, and feel great waking up)

(i just put pure alprazolam in a capsule and take it, fuck dissolving it in alcohol yet for anyone else.. blotter paper xanax works, if a friend wants a dose gotta do that).

Ohh.. piracetam & psychedelics. Well I am not sure anymore about DMT and piracetam, but its a possibility there's a very unpleasant thing that can happen but i know it could be from using too much GBL and not taking it (very scary).

I once took 2C-D , someitme after a normal piracetam dose (think 2g at the tiem), and had SUCH a beautiful trip! Lasted twice as long, i thought maybe this is more like DOM.. but have taken DOM recently and some things similar some not but yeah PEA's at least the 2c-x's it seems to change a lot, but then not always.. possibly having to do with when the piracetam peaks.

The DMT + Piracetam thing is wonderful. Nanobrain posted a whole bunch of comments about how it 'overloads' you mind and causes freakouts. Now people online are primed to have weird experiences with it (weird experiences on DMT?).

I never found that to be the case, and I am sensitive to both piracetam and DMT (the piracetam does potentiate the DMT, but the DMT takes one to the same place).
