R.I.P. Gil Scott-Heron

One of the pioneers of modern jazz and proto hip-hop has died. It was reported that Gil Scott-Heron passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 in New York City. The cause of death is unknown. He was 62-years-old.

Sad that he went so soon, but at least he finished one last album for us.

One bonus is the saturation of Gil's songs on the radio over the last week. Another 1 hour special on him tonight (RRR, 7pm).
