Quuick question on ghb synthesis

I've always been drinking straight gbl, but i finally want to give GHB a try. I have everything i need to do the synth, but i don't have ph papers.

my question is, how important is the final PH when it comes to your GHB?

they say keep it between 7-8 but you can drink solutions that are 4-10 i'm sure. So do you need to do the 7-8 ph just for taste? or is it actually for the drug to be active? Thankyou.
 
The Ph is very important!

When an acid (GBL) and an alkali (Sodium Hydroxide, Lye or Potassium Hydroxide) a salt is formed (GHB).

You also have to have the Ph between 7-8 because other wise your insides aren't gonna be thinking you! ;)

Also Lye is a really strong alkali!!! If you fuck up, kiss your ass good bye while your mouth, throat, stomach and the other shit under it are all burning and melting! ;) Just imagine that! Great mental pic' huh? :p
