I think this reflects a profound truth. It is precisely the moments of "difficult circumstances" when we feel most drained & fed up that the possibility of change is paradoxically nearest to us.
It has a physiological counterpart which we probably have all experienced - the "second wind" phenomenon which arrives when we are drained energetically. We want to give up & sleep more than anything. The second wind beckons to us when we are almost-totally-shattered. To draw on our energies even more, and remain awake, and act in a different (deliberate) way.

I guess I could be really pissed off about what happened to me. But it's so hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much.

I read about Hellen Keller a few years ago. It's an incredible story. She really looked like an angel.
But what stood out for me was her emphasis on curiosity. That's a trait that does so much for me, even to the extreme that I want to see what happens rather than kill myself!!
