Quitting smoking

I've decided to give up smoking cigarettes. I just finished a pack of 30, and I'm gonna try to make that my last. Not really for health reasons - I'm just spending too much money on the damn things! I won't bother with nicotine replacements at this stage. I'm already regularly going through meth withdrawals, and I figure nicotine withdrawals can't be any worse than that. :\

I am just over a month of not smoking.
My suggestion would be- don't give yourself that morning cigarette.
After you have slept, wake up and don't do t!! :)
I also chew A LOT of Orbit gum..... hahaha

Good luck!

I quit heroin 15 months ago and my fiancee is *still* trying to quit (smoking cigarettes, she quit using heroin with me a long time ago too).

I wish everyone (including you and especially my fiancee) the best of luck in quitting tobacco!

Congrats Ocean on your success too! :)

Well, so far I've gone the day without smoking...

I was tempted to buy a pack this morning, but managed to resist the urge. :)

I wish I had your strength. Can ya bottle some for me and ship it overnight?
I hope you realize how HUGE an accomplishment you have achieved

Grrr... I suck at giving up habits! Bought myself a pack of 30 today. But I'm gonna compromise and promise myself that I'll only buy one pack a week, so I'll be smoking much less each day and still saving some money.

That's OK P! You're cutting back, that's how quitting works. It's easier to cut back before giving it up all together.

My fiancee and I promised each other we'd quit using (for me, heroin, for her tobacco) and she's still smoking cigarettes (and I have quit using heroin 15 months ago), but a pack lasts her many days now (when she used to go through 1-2 packs a day).

Any decrease in your use counts! Don't get bummed out you can't cold turkey. Reward yourself with every decrease.

I wish you the best!
