Opioids Quitting Oxycotin Again.. This Time for Good

your best bet is to do a suboxone detox... take suboxone for about 10-14 days do a taper than stop.... Much bigger chance and easier than cold turkey bro..

Don't take sub for more than a few weeks... or else you'll be addicted to the sub

thats not true, the time u spend taking subs depends on how addicted u were too taking opiates, i dont know the time table but u just dont set it at 10-14 days. it took a buddy of mine 3 1/2 months to get off from being a steady heroin user

So far I have been able to acquire 8 15mg oxazepam & 3 0.5mg lorazepam.. I have to split these with my gf seeing as we are both quitting together (so we'd each get 4 oxazepam and 1.5 lorazepam).. will these 2 drugs help easy the withdrawal symptoms during the initial withdrawal?

uhm if youre looking for a day of relief then I suppose so, thats a very limited amount of product to be trying to help yourself with
why dont you go to the dr and try to get something prescribed to you? We explained what to do earlier and how to best prepare yourself to get through this if you couldnt do it cold turkey

i'll just leave a short message with personal experience of mine.

i never ever had any success trying to quit with a previous girlfriend. for us it was so easy to just succumb to the cravings, particularly when it's the cravings of two people combined. i tried this with her multiple times to no avail. the only time i have even managed any decent amount of sobriety (just past 60 days clean of opiates) i had to do it by myself with the help of others who were understanding and supportive.

i pray that it does work for the two of you because i believe that would be a beautiful thing for two people who love each other to make such great strides towards recovering TOGETHER, that would be incredible. but in my own personal experience i simply had to do it on my own and focus on myself.

good luck! i sincerely hope it works out for the two of you.

yea i know i'm trying to collect as much benzo's and such before i quit as possible.. i'm going to see the doctor either this weekend or next week during the week.. i'm also try 2 get ahold of some valiums or xanax

yeah, but you dont even know if those are the benzos you need to help you with whats going on
if youre really serious about this stop procrastinating and go to the dr

Its been nearly 2 weeks since you have asked for help and it appears as if you havnt stopped yet cause youre still looking for your own fixes

I would just look into maintaining on methadone or buprenorphine with the help of a doctor (methadone is a fuck-ton cheaper and many find as a full agonist it is alot better for cravings)
And then when you have both stabalized your lives, attempt to taper from the methadone or bupe.

- when you quit you get stress and anxiety and its hard to sleep.. i know this because i've tried to quit many times.. valium which i've taken helps me sleep and helps with my anxiety i know this through personal experience. if i can get what the doctor will give me or something better without having to see a doctor why not save my time and go grab off a dealer instead of seeing a doc who might not give me anything or something weaker.

- to be honest i really don't appreciate your comments they are not helpful and to be honest its hard to interpret them in any other way, than a way that is rude and insulting towards me.. i said i wanted advice and just because i'm not taking yours doesn't mean anything.. i don't need you to judge me and if you are keep it to yourself
- also i haven't stopped yet because i work 9-5 mon-fri and need a good week to quit. thats why when i'm done work next thursday i'm going to quit before i have to go back to school.. you don't know me and you don't know my situation so don't say anything about me not quitting yet

Anyways for anyone who has any further HELPFUL advice.. i've acquired 8 15mg oxazepam & 3 0.5mg lorazepam's and 29 10mg valiums.. i'm splitting these with my girlfriend.. we plan on getting as much sleep as possible eating healthy, drinking lots of fluids, renting some movies, and roughing it out. Quit date is set for next thursday. I'm going to read over the quitting opiates mega thread as well cuz i quickly read over it and there looks like theres lots of useful information on there.

Thanks everyone who gave me advice
