Hi there i went cold turkey on Chlorprothixene: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorprothixene
39 hours ago, my last dosage was 300mg, i have been on doses ranging of 100-300mg every night for 3-4 months.

It feels like someone has splashed me with lidocaine all over, and it seems to be getting worse. Is this dangerous?
I really dont want to taper, so if its not dangerous i think i will try to pull through.

Also if anyone else have experienced something similar when quiting an anti psychotic, it would be great to hear how long this crap lasts :(

EDIT: Forgot to add, i have not slept for 39 hours, and i am not tired at all, i have never had this much energy without stimulants

Unless a doctor tells you to do this DON'T. Anti-psychotics are very very serious medicines. The fact that you not only went cold turkey but that you were up for almost two days makes it hard imagine you haven't experienced psychosis. Seriously.

Stay on it.

yaman if your up for 39 hours after u stopped taking it that doesnt seem healthy id recommend talking to your doc about the meds if u dont wanna take them.

Thanks for the replies. After being up for 47 hours the shadow people started to visit me. So i caved in and took 100mg's, after a couple of hours i was asleep.

I have decided to taper down, instead of going cold turkey
