Quite a lot of jello shots consumed... no effects? Very confused.

I was attending a memorial day shindig and saw many other individuals consuming jello shots and were drunk off their asses. Decided to try a couple and damn were they strong tasting. Found out they were a mix of some everclear and others various vodkas..

While many others were pleased with it i noticed i was not feeling the effects at all. i usually get the same alerts when feeling the effects coming on and i had gotten them but no other effects after those alerts...

I haven't drank in about half a year (not a big fan) and thought damn like 10 should get me shmangled but i was quite wrong..

Generally i can handle my alcohol and when i start i don't stop until i black out but i mean no effects at all? Maybe it has something to do with coming off of a 3 day vyvanse binge at the time? Highly doubt that though..

Im not really worried as the shots were free but im just so damn curious as to why i did not become intoxicated..

I lub jelloshots my friend would make 5 trays at every party we'd have, when we'd make we would use everything from everclear to smirnoff, BIG difference in alcohol content, believe it or not, the rasberry smirnoff jello shots had a stronger alcoholic taste than the everclear shots, but were weaker, and yes it does take more aqua with higher alcohol content, but parts of water - parts of everclear still lead to a stronger shot, i was recently at a wedding and did over 20 shots ranging from patron - soco lime, didn't feel a thing, go to a bar two days later have 3 shots of jamison and two beers and i was pretty buzzed, sometimes its just weird like that

Sounds like the wedding servers seriously watered down those drinks, or you were on Adderall or caffeine, or you were doing benzos with the 5 drinks at the bar, because something doesn't add up about not being able to feel "over 20 shots."

Seems many of us have a similar issue. Sometimes I need atleast 2-3 beers to honestly feel anything. Other times I can take in half a beer and slowly start to feel it kick in and be slightly more relaxed. I find the first to happen alot more often in social situations.

^ 2-3 beers and 20 drinks is a huge difference, though, even accounting for set and setting and stomach contents.

the logic is still the same. 20 drinks is very heavy. I am assuming you were quite hammered but still capable of acting fairly coherent and thinking strait? Have you done anything with opiates? I am thinking of connections between naltrexone, endorphins (social situations), alcohol, and how alchohol is metabolized.

Make sure you didn't do what I did! Bought a bottle of grey goose..starting making jello on stove...added grey goose...ate the whole pan thinking we are going to get soooo drunk! Then I remember thinking "its so crazy we didn't even taste the alcohol in it!" then all of the sudden it hit us! We added the grey goose in to the stove top jello! While it was still on and we were stirring it! So it cooked the alky straight out!! We were young and dumb haha.

To answer your question: i have done an extreme amount of opiates ranging from the typical vic or perc to tramadol to heroin... could that have affected the tolerance?

But after research im kind of leaning toward the idea that the vyvanse binge had a hand in it.

Most definitely, speed makes you feel sober as you get drunk to the point of alcohol poisoning, until the amp wears off and you black out hardcore. But, Vyvanse is a long lasting amp, so maybe it just didn't wear off.

Getting blacked out drunk due to not knowing your alcohol limits since you're feeling sober, while on a high dose of amphetamines is neurotoxicity galore, great for damaging Dopamine receptors.

A small amount of alcohol might be neuroprotective, but that's something like 2-3 drinks (drink = 1 beer or 1.5 oz liquor).

Alcohol is a straight up poison at common dosages.

I only drink once or twice a year but I have found my alcohol tolerance has increased a lot as well. I used to be a lot skinnier when I was a heavy drinker in my youth so perhaps that is a factor.
