I'm an intermittent opiate user (low tolerance) and recently came into possession of 2 8mg/2mg suboxones (for recreational use). These were gone within 48 hours. Reckless and ignorant given it's half life and my tolerance, I know, but what's done is done. Now I've come down with some flu like symptoms about 24 hours after that small binge. However, I worked with a coworker who was sick yesterday, so my question is could I even be in WD so soon after such a small stint of usage or am I more likely just legitimately sick? Thanks in advance for any replies! Hopefully I'm just being paranoid.

Well, without knowing what your exact tolerance and frequency of opiate use is, it is hard to say.. Do you normally feel withdrawal symptoms after stopping use of your opiate of choice? Have you had a physical habit in the past?

16mg of bupe is a pretty substantial amount, especially for someone with no tolerance.

On one hand, it is entirely possible that your little 'binge" on subxone could leave you feeling some minor physical withdrawals after ceasing. On the other hand, it could be totally un-related to opiate withdrawal and you do in fact have a legitimate cold/flu.

I was going to close this, but I feel like you need to give us some more information regarding your prior opiate tolerance and usage before we can give you a better answer, so I shall leave this thread open for a bit until you get back to us.

My use is occasional and I've never been in WD, but my most recent opiate use was about 3 weeks ago, which involved what was for me somewhat heavy dilaudid (up to 8mg) and oxy (up to 50mg) use that occupied about 4 weeks of using daily or every other day. I guess binge wasn't a great word, but for me it was pretty substantial.

I don't think that you are in withdrawals from it.

Sometimes people have a "hangover" the morning after using a heavy dose of opiates, but it usually subsides as the day goes on.

Thanks for the input both of you. I'm going to turn in for the evening, but I'll check back in the morning if yall leave the thread open for any further input. Now that I've had more time to think about it, WD does seem like an unlikely conclusion, but I figured better safe than sorry.

Well, since this has run its course and has seem to be answered, I am going to go ahead and close this.

OP, if you have any other questions or feel this should stay open for any reason don't hesitate to send me a private message.
