Over-Verber...or Verb Abuser...or Verbuser! ;)
(Got a little out of hand with that one, sorry;) I'm on first cup of coffee in over a week! )
Anyways, I suppose I always (now) get a little iffy with trying a new combination by myself due to ... interactions or just...that one bad time. But, in my past, I always wanted to try something new alone b/c I wanted to know how it would play on me. Tramadol-depending on how much you take, in my experience, was kind of an upper type feeling. I got a little shaky&speedy feeling. That mellowed with time&familiarity&tolerance. But I can't speak for the combination of Codeine & Tram. I agree w/Comfortably Numb- less of the Codeine, as you know what that does for you&you would better know more of what Tramadol does for you and to know what you can handle. It's easier to add to , to adjust than to take away due to unwanted effects. Just be careful, as Always.
(Run on sentences habit)

300 mgs of Tram seems like a lot for someone naive to its shitty effects although I could be wrong. I know there is a certain risk of seizures in high doses...Maybe someone can reinforce this or maybe I am just dead wrong.

Anything over 400mg of tram and your seizure threshold is lowered dramatically, so as a new user please be careful and do not take any more than that. I would assume 200mg should be enough for you, esp if you are combining with codeine. Also bear in mind that both are CNS depressants, so becare with dosage, and strt low and work your way up. You do not want to OD.

Agreed..and I just thought of this... my sister in law has been taking a new script for high doses of Tramadol. She also is rx'd for anxiety.(there may be more that I don't know of... She had a surgery last yr. that has apparently caused long term pain, so maybe more than just Tramadol ). Over the last 2months, she has had multiple seizures. One of them was particularly violent & was beat up(from the fall) pretty bad&she had to stay in the hospital for awhile. She has no history of seizures. The Tramadol has been pulled, she's not had a seizure since...just the other day they did go ahead and put her on an anti-seizure/epileptic med. due to the fact that her sister, whom they didn't think about at first, (b/c they've been estranged since childhood) has epilepsy. Was it the Tramadol? Or precondition? Don't know. Just be careful. Esp. with large ammts. (Not trying to scare you... No. Just facts/info. that should be considered w/any new drug). All the best to ya!

^ it could very well be the problem. As of recently,I discovered she's been rx'd UP to 200mg of Tramadol (which Tramadol is like kryptonite it me, being on Methadone) per day- now I don't know if she takes the 200mg everyday...this was all news recently came out. She's also , as long as I've known her been on anxiety meds- From Xanax, Valium and Ativan who know if she's taking any other pain meds. She was quite upset that her meds were more or less "known" since the seizures. (Personally, I can't help but shake my in head in pure amazement with this knowledge due to the fact that I have always had to hear the "disappoint" and "embarrassment" and pretty much disgust that she&and my brother have had for me over the years due to me being on methadone... The irony. Now it makes sense why she's always so spacey, flighty and downright droopy-drowsy. My mothers noticed this too. FB No wonder she was mad that her meds came into our knowledge! Sorry, off topic). SO, I know she goes to ER a lot with pain- don't know what else she gets rx'd. I do believe it could be a VERY likely cause for seizures. I don't know HOW honest she's been w/her Dr's/hospital. But the mixture of meds- if taking the max. ammt. or more, then your more likely in a zone where a seizure is a total possibility. Scary.
(Side note - never throw stones-it may come back on you 10 fold. I will never bring up the names they've called me, for being on methadone, I figure that w/her&my brother knowing I know, with no words from me is... torturous enough;))
...but I in no way, even giving the karma of judgement, do NOT wish for her to have ANY seizures. Just want to clarify that! The karma is her knowing I know.
So, yes, I do believe there's a GOOD damn chance the mixture potentiated seizures.
