What is it with all you people who post "quick" shit? Like "Just have a quick question" or "need a quick answer" or "quick tip please..."
As if suggesting every other thread is going to take all day for someone to read and answer... Or that somehow you just know the answers are going to be ten words or less.
Hey, if it's such a simple, quick question, why not quickly do a quick search and get your answer even faster? I mean, in comparison to posting a question and waiting for people to answer, doing even a thorough, time-consuming search is going to be quicker.
The concept of "quick question" only really works in person, as there is inherently nothing quick about logging into a forum, starting a new thread and waiting for people to answer, let alone provide the answer you're looking for.
In fact, I'd wager the whole idea behind "hey, just a quick question" is to somehow excuse yourself from doing any work (I.e. searching) for your own answer.
To add insult to injury, all of you dipshits who just post "a quick question" never actually hint at the subject in your thread title, LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO. You want a quick answer? Post a subject line like "Xanax and coke a bad mix?" At least that way someone who has knowledge in this area will "quickly" spot a question they know something about and jump in to answer (not to mention how it would help someone else in the future doing a search for info about Xanax and coke).
Threads with titles like "quick question" or "need help with this" are of absolutely no value because most people looking for info do thread title searches - so if you (god forbid) were to actually generate a usefull discussion about Xanax and coke in this thread, it would never pop up in a future user's search.
So non descriptive thread titles, in addition to being annoying, turn out to be incredibly selfish and completely against the spirit of harm reduction.
Ok, rant over. Please try to follow these guidelines.
It's easy, painless and... Quick.
