Questions of the effects of DXM on the body

Was just wondering about the effects of taking this drug as a way to get high and the amounts needed to get there. Im not planning on taking it but im scratching my head about the harm reduction part of it. It seems to me, and i could be totally wrong, that taking a high dose of this medication would be extremely taxing on the major organs in the body. Even with one dose seems there could be potential for major or permaneant damage to these organs as well as the brain.

Which makes me wonder why its even a part of some of these drug forum websites? Seems that it should be advised not to even try this venue of getting high because of what damage could happen. Im not saying that meth, heroin, cocaine etc are substances that cant do this either but it seems there is a much higher potential with DXM.

You see harm reduction talked about but then you see posts and threads totally dedicated on informing and telling people how to take this drug which to me seems like could cause so much damage even with one time. I dont know the policy here about discussing the meth cooking method of shake and bake but i know its really frowned upon in other parts of the web but you can talk about DXM all day long. Im not advocating shake and bake but it seems like dxm is a very high risk thing as well.

Maybe im just misinformed on the effect of it and its not as i think it is. Ive read some pretty sad stories with people taking this stuff and some of those were stories were about people taking it only once. Just wondering if anyone has some facts to give on how it interacts with the body with taking a larger dose than the bottle suggests. Medical facts, not trip reports

As far as I'm concerned, there is no research that suggests that Dxm is majorly damaging to the human body an organs. I have read that high dosed Dxm everyday can lead to brain damage.

But honestly I think it's safe to take like a normal hallucinogen. But I have recently read that administration via cough syrup with Guafinisen can cause kidney stones with high doses. But I'll assume this is a long term effect.

It does leave an enormous amount of serotonin in the brain though. I can't ever feel slightly sad 5days after use. Whether this is neuro-toxic or not I haven't found research suggesting that it is.

I believe you're slightly misinformed or maybe I am? Lol. But those sad stories you may have read about the drug are just what happens when you're not careful and have a good understanding whilst tripping on hallucinogens.

Clearly the conditions to cause major health risks with this drug are very specific. Like taking more than a gram and you're in the danger zone. But there's really no need to go past a gram unless you're that daring and if you confine to strict gel cap use then you can avoid the allegations of kidney stones from the Guafinisen.

Hope this cleared up some things.
