Hi!

I love stimulants. I love good ol' caffeine, I've tried impure "base", which is amphetamine but I estimate of low quality, I enjoyed the effects a lot however. I've tried very very low quality european powder speed (didn't feel a thing). I absolutely love cocaine but I don't want to use it often as I enjoy it a little too much and it costs so much money. I also totally adore mephedrone and MDMA but those are a different class of stims altogether.

So now I'm interested in Ritalin. However, I have a few questions first that I'm hoping you guys can answer. Firstly, I have a couple of options. I can either buy generic or I can pay slightly more and get Novartis. Is it worth shelling out a little extra for Novartis? Can both be snorted and taken orally?

Secondly, what would ritalin compare to if anything out of what I've tried? I imagine it'd be closest to speed but I'm not sure. I've heard some people don't even enjoy it at all?

Third about how I take it - is it more effective snorting or orally, or maybe even together? And what would a good first time dose be?

Any help will be really really appreciated! I wasn't sure if this should go here or in BDD, so I just put it in both. Mods can feel free to delete one or the other

Having never tried Ritalin, most people report that it feels like ten cups of coffee.

It has the forced motivation ("must-get-shit-done") aspect of caffeine, and also the peripheral side effects of caffeine, like sweating, increased BP and HR, chest pain, and increased anxiety and panic. If taken in a mild dose, a lot of these side effects don't appear, and some people like it even more than amps for treating inattentive ADD. It keeps you focused and forces motivation (forced motivation from the increased NE activity; this effect from amps is not good to chase, as amps do this more through DA rather than Ritalin's NE, and overly high levels of prefrontal cortex DA leads to neurotoxicity, dependence, tolerance, and addiction). It tends to make you emotionless, with very tough emotional comedowns. This is all through the oral route.

Snorted, it feels very similar to cocaine, but with a lot less of the cocaine euphoria. Snorted Ritalin is extremely moreish, so don't snort it if you have an addictive personality or else you might find yourself in a binge.

To be honest, I'm scared of trying Ritalin (MPH). It sounds so harsh for such little effect. I can get increased NE activity from caffeine or ephedrine if I want to, and those both last twice as long as MPH, and use simple dextroamphetamine for increasing prefrontal DA levels. I only use it therapeutically, though. Recreationally, I would recommend buying speed base and doing a very simple acetone wash on it to remove impurities and make it "high grade."

Wrap them in concrete and dump at the bottom of the sea, or just keep them for emergencies. For me, trying for any pleasurable effect with methylphenidate is like ephedrine, you end up doing more and more trying to buzz but just end up feeling really uncomfortable.

No need to start two threads on the same topic in two forums at the same time (in fact, it's not permitted). These questions are better suited for BDD anyway.

I take 20mg of ritalin 4x per day for ADHD. It really helps me, and when I first started taking it years ago, I found it quite enjoyable ...but once that was over with, it was over with for good (if that makes sense? ).
OP, I've only had one of the drugs you were asking about in comparison with Ritalin, so don't know if this helps at all. Maybe this will help us to compare apples to apples-When I was newly diagnosed, I tried just about every form of every drug available to treat ADHD (I'm in the US, BTW). I absolutely hated Adderall. It made me paranoid, antisocial, and withdrawn. Many people I know much prefer Adderall over Ritalin. So hopefully that will help you determine how much attention to pay this post :)

it's like weak coke if you snort it, if you eat it than you might as well have not taken anything at all. best ROAs are plugging or IV (not recommended). Plugging is the only way to take it. Gives you a brief but euphoric rush not unlike that of cocaine, but with more pronounced side effects and less pronounced recreational effects.

i've found insufflated methylphenidate to be generally superior to what is usually sold as 'speed' around here (mostly drain cleaner), but it's not a very common drug in germany and i can count the times i used it on my hands. it had, at least for me, a crash that was exactly the same as decent amphetamines, with protracted insomnia, some anxiety and all that shit, and it was in general like a slightly less enjoyable version of adderall.
the pills i used were generic MPH from different manufacturers, ranging in potency from 10-50mg, all of them IR.
also i absolutely don't think that oral MPH does nothing, it's a nice pick-me-up but certainly doesn't create much euphoria.

Ritalin (methylphenidate) is similar in structure and effect to cocaine, however, it is often reported to be less enjoyable, and it possesses a longer half-life and longer duration of action than cocaine. I take all of my drugs orally, and though that may change should I happen upon a drug which has a much better intranasal BA than oral BA, oral administration is very effective for most any drug at the right dose. I would suggest starting at a lower dose such as 10 mg orally. Because you have extensive experience with stimulant drugs, you may find this dose of methylphenidate underwhelming, but you have no specific methylphenidate tolerance. Start at 10 mg taken orally, and adjust your following doses to taste. Having experience with good quality cocaine, you may be unimpressed with methylphenidate, but take it for what it is. The crash is not particularly pleasant with methylphenidate, but is shorter than that of amphetamines, for example.

It's complete BS when people say MPH can feel at all like cocaine, believe me I have exhausted all the ROAs and dosage levels, I would check to make sure you're getting real cocaine if you think MPH feels like it.

You already have a similar thread over in BDD. Please don't cross post. I'm closing this one and leaving the BDD one open.
