Questions about Oxycodone/Pain mgmt

Hi all-
I have very recently (within the last 5 days) been diagnosed with Fibromyalsia. I am familiar with the disease because both my mother and brother have it as well. I am prescribed 5mg Oxycodone (no ATAP) 1 pill, 4 times a day, prn.
This has been very helpful with regards to my pain, however, I still have some. Its not nearly where it was---went from an 8 on the scale, to a 4...
My questions are: one, would it be okay to take 2 at a time, twice a day; because the instructions state prn? <snip>
A little back story...the follow up would only be the second time I have seen him. As said before, I was recently diagnosed. I am very serious about my pain mgmt, and I do not want to lose this script I have now, as it does help a lot!

Any advice?

Mod note: Questions about how to act/what to do/what to say at the doctor's office to influence the outcome of the appointment are strictly prohibited.

I am currently in pain mgmt. Did you even read it?

I know your questions are legit, but this will likely get closed. Bluelight doesn't allow discussions about how to approach your doctor. You best bet is to discuss your pain level with your doc. He may tell you that you have to expect some pain with your diagnosis. He may up your dosage. Just don't go in demanding more meds and you should be fine.

Thank you for a response. I didn't mean to offend, or "break the rules." Just looking for information.
Thanks again.

You've only started pain management this week so yeah it would be out of line to ask the doctor to up your dose.
Keep in mind increasing your dosage will also increase you tolerance which will go up on it's own anyway.
