Opioids Questions about opiate withdrawal

I am not opiate naive, and I have been using opiates regularly for about 2 1/2-3 years and somehow have managed to never experience physical withdrawal. I have always managed to space out my dosing, rarely ever dosing more than 3-5 days in a row.

However, over the past few weeks my usage has begun to increase with the recent availability of cheap opana er's, and high quality east coast white powder heroin.

I have used every day over the past week and a half to 2 weeks straight (approximately). My last dose was exactly 24 hours ago and was roughly 25mgs of opana, insufflated. And just to give you a rough estimate of my tolerance. It usually takes about 120-150mgs of oxy, 30-40mgs of opana, and about 4-5 bags of heroin to get me high...all of the aforementioned insufflated, never iv'd.

Now, this morning I woke up feeling great like usual, but around 7-8pm I started to feel kinda crappy. I started to get chills and diahrrea and a bit of anxiety. It has been coming in waves since then and is not unbearable, but quite annoying.

My main question is, does this sound like opiate withdrawal...I'm pretty sure it is but am not sure? And if so, how long should this last given my recent usage and tolerance?

Also, will taking, say a vic 5 or 10 help these symptoms...I know that it's illogical to use an opiate to come off of an opiate, but I don't want to feel crappy anymore.

Also, please don't tell me to stop using because that is exactly what I plan on doing for a while. I know I'm mentally and possibly physically dependent on opiates but I do have the willpower to stop on my own (which I am doing right now, I could go score if I wanted but have chosen not to)

Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, but I am new here and any info would be greatly appreciated. :D

Yes, it sounds like opiate withdrawal. The vicodin may help, but only to prolong the withdrawals.

Opiate withdrawal usually lasts 3-4 days, and may be accompanied by a period of PAWS considering your duration of use. Many people rely on long lasting opiates such as suboxone or methadone to use for 3-4 days to make the withdrawal symptoms less intense.

Yeah, that sounds like opiate withdrawal to me. But I have never experienced opiate withdrawal first-hand, really. Your best bet is to quit, of course, something that you've already mentioned, and to try getting your hands on a bit of suboxone, again, having already been mentioned.

If you can grab a couple 8 mg suboxone, I would recommend that you cut each one into quarters, take a quarter one day and a quarter the next and then maybe cut the quarters into halves and begin taking what will essentially be eighths, etc. until it is all gone. From what I have been told, and I am sure more enlightened bluelighters will chime in soon, suboxone withdrawal really sucks, so you might want to try avoiding that with the smaller doses. You know?

Depending upon one's physiology 3 days of regular usage can cause a very slight physical dependency so yes, you are Withdrawing. It should be mild at tgis point, as you say, and the physical aspect finishes within 72 hours as long as you do not use another opiate/opioid (and that includes methadone and bupe/Sub.

It's the beginnings of withdrawal, those are classic symptoms (I'm experiencing them right now as well, go figure) and if taking an opiate (hydrocodone in this case) stops them, its withdrawal.

That's the best way to tell if you're dopesick or not. Does dosing make it all go away? Then its dopesickness :(

Yeah I'm about 37 hours in, and it hasn't gotten too much worse. Def withdrawals, still have the diarrhea, chills, now stomach cramps (which is fucking annoying), sneezing fits, etc... I feel I'm prolly through the worst of it...hopefully.

All in all it's not too bad, I do have the cravings to go and score, which I really don't wanna do because all I can get is oxy and I don't wanna set myself back. I wish I could find some subs or something, but no luck with that.

I have another question for anyone who reads this, will Immodium help with the stomach cramps or make them worse? I know it will stop the shits which will be great because my butthole is starting to burn from going to the bathroom so much....BUT...If the Immodium will make my stomach cramps worse, then I'll probably just suck it up and keep cold turkey'in it.

Just try 10 mg of Immodium and see if that helps. It wont give you any complications and you just might feel better. Some people swear by this but you wont get high, just maybe some relief.

According to your usage and history, I would personally ride it out all the way to the end with no cheating.

At 37 hours in it might still get a little bit worse but won't be much worse than what you have already experienced. Using daily for those last 2 weeks is not as long as it seems, and for me personally does not cause too bad of a detox.

I would think that its probably not going to get much worse and should hopefully only last a week at most if your lucky, and that's why I wouldn't eat any Vic's, Oxy's, or even Bupe, since they would all just extend your overall detox in the long run. I don't think your withdrawal should be bad enough that you need any Suboxone.

Remember however, that withdrawals affect everyone differently...

Good luck!
