Questions about GHB

I've been reading that GHB is usually kept in liquid form in a bottle.
When people take this do they usually mix it with water, like at a club would someone wanting to take GHB mix it with a bottle of water they buy at the bar? Or would they drop a capsule or something in the bottle to dissolve?
A friend of mine out at a club this past weekend picked up a water bottle that he thought was his and began drinking it. He said the bottle was about half full and it had a salty flavor and knew it wasnt water. Another friend took a small sip (which I kind i thought was kind of dumb) and agreed it tasted salty.
Both of them had been rolling at the time and not too much later they both felt very fucked up and drowsy. But they could have been feeling that way from being out and dancing/rolling. It must have been at least 6am by the time this happened with them. They thought it might be GHB that was in the bottle, but neither of them have taken that drug before.
Can anyone tell me what it tastes like? I've read that GHB has no taste or smell and thats one of the reasons it is used as a date rape drug, its not detectable. Is this true?
What are the chances my friends actually drank GHB?
And to the MODS, yes Ive done a search but couldnt find the answers to my questions.

If it was G it sounds pretty weak to me. If I just took a swig out of the bottle I have, it would certainly knock me the fuck out.
 
Some people put the dose in water so they can drink it more slowly and control how messed up they get.
 
You described GHB - of course there are questions such as HOW DILUTED was the shit (as if you took more then a small swing they should have been passed out within minutes..) and why/how someone would have left their GHB (which can be sold for $5/cap at parties) un-attended ..
But based upon the limited info we have, I'd say it was something along those lines..
YES, "ghb is a colorless and odorless drug" when made in a controlled setting, but when some 16 y/o is mixing GBL and Lye in his kitchen you get a product that tastes salty/nasty, when there is a ton of un-reacted GBL in it the situation is worse..
It could have also been some analog/GHB-clone where you have to take larger amounts...
 
i figure some 1 or a couple ppl put a cuple doses in the bottle to drink on...it sounds like ghb becuz it does taste salty...but now days ppl are putting food coloring in there g so no 1 will try and use it as a date rape drug.

nah, it's neither. I've had pharmaceutical grade NaGHB (straight out of a chemist's lab) and it still smells like table salt and tastes like...well, salt.

Here is a story for ya...
I was in Toronto on Easter weekend and I went over to a friend's house to buy some GHB. I bought 5 vials and was planning on taking them to the Hex Hector party @fly. Just before leaving, the guy Len said that it was really good and asked if I wanted to taste it before leaving. I said sure.
So I open up the fridge and there is a water bottle in it. Len hands it to me and I, assuming that it was diluted with water, took a big swig. When I realized what was in my mouth I freaked out. It was straight GHB. Len then said, "I can't believe you just drank that much!"
I though, shit, I need to get back to the hotel quick. When I got there I started to make myself throw up. The G was not coming back up though. I ended up passing out before the party and spending the night alone in the hotel room while my friends had a ball.
To make things worse, when I did finally wake up it was about 3 a.m. and everyone was still gone. I though, if I only had some money I could walk to the bar and get in. It turns out that my boyfriend had left the $50 needed to get into the club in my wallet. But since I knew I had no money, why would I bother to look in my wallet? If he had left it on the T.V. then I would have found it.
Oh well, I did get to watch hotel TV until 8 when they started to get back.

My friends turned out fine, but were a little freaked by the experience. Im fairly sure that whatever they drank was diluted because the effects didnt seem that bad.
