Benzos Questions about benzos

Hey guys, im completely new to this forum.

I have been using benzos every now and then in high doses, and suddenly they stop giving me that good, chill, amazing (in my opinion) high.
I was 3 months clean and the tolerance had went down a little, but not much (10mg clonazepam without no black out or any good benzo high).
So i waited another 1 month and today i popped like 5 blue valiums (50 mg) and 10mg clonazepam. I felt kinda high (not wasted) but nothing like the first months before i developed a tolerance.

So my qustions are:
How long do i have to wait for my tolerance to get back to start, zero.
Will my tolerance be permanent?? :O

Im also curious about this: if i take huge amount of benzos (diazepam, clonazepam or alprazolam), will i die from an overdose even though i have tolerance?

Edit: I meant 2mg of clonazepam, NOT 10mg lol

Benzo tolerance, at least to the recreational effects, can last for a very long time and its worse with high doses (since 10mg of clonazepam is equivalent to 200mg of diazepam, 10mg qualifies as a high dose).

Clonazepam also is known to randomly just poop out altogether, even with non-recreational users, and that tolerance doesn't appear to go away for quite awhile (when it pooped out on me, I didn't get anything from it for over a year and then it was still just enough to stave off diazepam withdrawal, not to have a beneficial therapeutic effect.

As for your last question - you can always die from a large dose of benzos. It isn't terribly likely when they're used by themselves but if you mix them with alcohol or opiates or other downers, your risk exponentially magnifies. And if they don't kill you, the things that you do during a benzo blackout can get you locked up or killed for sure.

There are far more drugs suited for recreational use than benzos. You're playing with fire. As someone currently going through a long, drawn out, and horrible benzo taper, I can tell you that the risk FAR outweighs any benefit in the long run.

Thank you for your answer!

I wrote wrong, was probably a little buzzed, i took 50mg of diazepam, and 2mg of clonazepam (NOT 10mg) last night.

So, my tolerance won't go back to normal in over a years time?
Anyone who is sure that benzo tolerance is NOT permanent?

I don't think any tolly is permanent, but I haven't been prescribed clonazepam for a few months now and every now and then when I can manage to be resourceful and find some benzos - which i genuinely need for severe chronic anxiety - I find that 2-3mg of xanax just scratches the surface. I wasn't even abusing them really when the kpins were prescribed. I may have taken one or two more in a day than prescribed but never intentional to get a high - strictly anxiety related.

How do you plan on quitting a benzo habit with doses that high? Have a grand mal, experience w/d anxiety, and start from scratch? Good luck my friend. I wish benzos were never even created. They are the only thing that helps me, but in a lot of peoples cases not worth it when alternative meds can help. In fact, I'm not sure where I read this (hell maybe on here) but I'm pretty sure if xanax or some other benzos were to be introduced to the FDA today they wouldn't schedule them for medical use - period.

Best of luck,

Thank u for ur answer.

But i was never, and im still, NOT addicted to benzos.

But, if a benzo tolerance isnt permanent, how long do you guys think i have to stay clean to get that good "what-the-hell-am-i-doing-high" ??? xD

Btw. I just took 2mg of clonazepam under the tounge....did nothing...still sober (I still have clonazepam since last night in my system though, im still a little dizzy lol).

^^

Then you're incredibly lucky. You probably just have a naturally high tolerance. The first time I took vicodin it took 25mg to get me high - most people feel it at 10mg their first time. Has anyone in your immediate family abused drugs in the past?
