Right I know that taking an SSRI (Prozac/Fluoxetine, Citalopram etc.) 4-5hours after consuming MDMA has anti-neurotoxic/neuroprotective effects.

I know if you're taking an SSRI for at least a week or two daily and then take MDMA it blocks the MDMA from the receptors (I've heard of people saying they still get a stimulant effect though!).

Does taking an SSRI taken 4-5hours after Desoxyn/Methamphetamine have the neuroprotective effect?

Also this is my actual question/real concern is will taking an SSRI offer any health benefits when taken 4-5 hours after 4-FluoroMethAmphetamine?

I popped 10mg of citalopram about 4.5hours after taking 4-FMA just incase. Also A high dose Vitamin B-50 complex with 250mg vit' C, an A-Z Vitamin & Mineral (Standard RDA amounts) and an 1000mg Omega 3 fish oil cap'.

I know SSRI's (I think it's long-term use only not one off doses) mess' with your liver enzymes and increase methadone blood levels and slows it's metabolism. Hopefully one off dosage will do that too.

Thanks in advance folks!

I don't think taking "single doses" of a SSRI is going to help very much. At worst it is liable to make you very uncomfortable. SSRI's are not known for their "likeability" as drugs. I wouldn't like to deal with brain zaps, derealization et cetera on my amphetamine comedown!

Amphetamines in partiular last much longer than MDMA - the half life of amphetamines is generally about 12 hours. MDMA is only 6. So this may not even be effective.

It is my understanding that part of the reasons that SSRIs block MDMA neurotoxicity is because they outright stop MDMA from acting as a serotonin releaser (explaining why courses of treatment or pre-dosing wih a SSRI will make your roll fizzle out). I don't think I would want to purposefully block the re-uptake of serotonin after a huge amount has been released, either. With a SSRI the majority will be destroyed by MAO enzymes, instead of a portion being returned to the cells. This is likely to exacerbate the crash.

Thank you for weighing in on this, very interesting stuff Sekio.

I'm afraid it may not be as simple as popping a prozac after your sesh =\

Surely you've read through this.

i think that SSRIs prevent mdma neurotoxicity by blocking the dopamine from back flowing into the serotonin vesicle.

i do not think that this would help with meth since it is just dopamine.

i don't think that SSRIs would help you with meth but i would guess that anti psychotics would because they regulate levels of dopamine
