I have a few OP 80's and I'm NOT looking to get all or most of dose at one time by splitting these in half and swapping in half's, my question is by doing so will the 40 mg's of Oxy be released at once or still over a ten hour duration?

I'm not looking to get high, but rather titrate. Ion not crush g, shaving, crisping... Just slicing in half.

Some places I have read yes others no...

*Me thinks* that the time release will remain intact. Thus one OP80 cut in half will yield two OP40's again *me thinks* the integrity of the time release matrix will remain. THis can be demonstrated by placing one whole pill in a 16.9oz plastic bottle of spring water and cutting another in half and placing those two pieces in another 16.9oz plastic bottle of spring water and then watching the result (which will take hours). I like to turn them upside down so when the pill(s) stick, they stick to the cap and can easily be retrieved.
HTH good luck with your pain.

P.S. Without an unlimited supply, its best to take them as directed by the label. *Seems* all other efforts to thwart the time release has led to a loss.
