I have been an on and off I.v. Drug user for about 5 years now and it's shameful to say the least but I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. Anyways I've been on Subs for around a year now and have been I.v.'ing them for about 6 of those months. My veins have been used and abused for so long and with the help of improper I.V. procedures have been taken to hell and back. My only saving grace I.m.o. Is me being an athlete for most of my high school days so I started out with good veins when I began shooting up. Needless to say five years later and Im beginning to have complications whenever I shoot. Now to my question I need help with.. As of late whenever I shoot subs into certain veins I won't feel the signs that let you know a shot is being missed nor will I see any type of lump form. But, when I remove the needle it feels like a lump forms at the injection site, it isn't sore to the touch or hurt much. Mainly it just feels a little bit hard and these usually go away on their own after a day or two. I was wondering if this all means the vein is leaking maybe? Or maybe the vein is to small? And if it is somehow leaking is the suboxone still being absorbed into my system. I am pretty muscular still (which is a miracle in itself due to the abuse my body has taken in its day) and some of the sites have a thick layer of muscle surrounding the vein. Does this make any sense to anyone? And or has anyone else had similar reactions to sub hits? I apologize if I didn't post this correctly or use the correct terminology here, this will be my first post. I'm just asking for some help, I am an adult and aware of the risks associated with I.v. Drug use as well as drugs period. Thanks in advance B.L.
