I live just south of the netherlands so let's just say I'm very lucky 
about 1 in 10 pills we buy are not MDMA but something else, the rest ranges from average to fantastic. I never have to go out to festivals in search of it, I just ask around since there is an abundant supply coming in (most of the time) and if all else fails we just make a little trip to the netherlands which takes us about 3 hours and start asking around, doesn't take long to find it. I think if it was that hard to find as some of you say and that dangerous because of the mostly adulturated substances I wouldn't take the chance of doing extasy
To reply to the original question: it's better to ask around in your immediate surroundings than to go out looking, could be dangerous because even here if you don't ask around for them beforehand but look around at festivals you get alot of fake stuff and even dangerous stuff. But if you know the people the supply is high quality and steady...
*edit* oh and a good pill costs about 7$, a gram of good MDMA powder about $30-35$ here

but we have about the same steady supply the netherlands have, though maybe a little less in volume because we are a small country. The entire supply chain for the rest of europe runs through this country. Anyways it's a great place to live if you're into drugs indeed. Plus the police is alot more liberal, I was busted about a year ago with 10 pills and they called it personal use (which it was, I'm not a dealer), confiscated them and let me go without a fine (they don't always do that but you won't get those crazy punishments that America seems to hand out to people who just want to experiment). Pills above 200mg MDMA content are not common but you run into them once in a while, so the quality is great too. By all means pack your bags! We europeans are a crazy, loveable bunch %)
