Question on combining opiates

just curious, has anyone ever combined two different types of opiates? For example, someone with no tolerance using low doses of codeine and hydrocodone. Would the effects of one potentiate the other? Would the stronger overwhelm the weaker? Or would you just get a moderate buzz while increasing the negative side effects?
No real desire to try this, since I have a tolerance and prefer something a *little* stronger, but the thought popped into my head and I can't seem to find an answer. Damn cat killing curiosity.

no. no one has ever, ever tried combining more than one opiate. period...

They just combine... for instance i only had 25mg hydro and it normally takes me 35 to get where i want so i thru in 100mg codiene and it worked out fine, if not stronger than hydro alone..
All opiates have slightly different affinities for different opiate receptors, so combining them can give you subtle unique new opiate highs.

Combining opiates can be fatal; Ì once drank an opium concoction, was not satisfied, and shot some heroin. In the meantime the opium drink showed itself stronger than I first thought. Suddenly I woke up with my exhausted and rather angry brother by my side; he had for several minutes given me artificial breathing.
Also I know ppl that drank methadone, shot some H, and by the time the methadone took it's real hold - often a surprisingly slow affair - they passed out, and - in at least one case - died.

If you know the correct conversions from opiate to opiate you should be fine... that is if your working with scripts, street drugs.. you have no way of knowing.

Normally I wouldnt try this, but after I had my tonsils removed, I had a prescription for hydrocodone, oxycontin and codeine syrup. (nothing would kill the pain so they kept giving me different scripts to see if anything helped) I would take up to all three during the day, and I was completely knocked on my ass for the most part (still in pain though) I remember being cranky when I mixed them, which surprised me because I am always so happy on them. Maybe it was just the pain. This whole reply was basically useless lol, but yes, I have tried more than one, and no, I dont find it more pleasurable than doing them alone.
