Question on adderall side effects

Okay I've been taking various types of "uppers" including adderall for about 2 years.
Not every time but sometimes when I take adderall I get a red rash on my neck/chest and face, which is sometimes hot to the touch. Also I get this tingling feeling at the top of my head, almost a tickling sensation.
It's happened both on IRs and XRs, I'm just curious why this happens and if I can prevent it?

Hives and rashes are listed as side effects pretty much everywhere. It's difficult to know exactly why it happens as rashes themselves have so many causes.

The 'tingling head' tends to happen to recreational amphetamine users but it's described as pleasant side-effect.

Do you abuse your amphetamines and did you talk to your prescribing doctor about this?

Could be a mild histamine reaction, see if antihistamines (ie. allergy/travel sickness meds) help it at all.

As nAON mentioned,it could be a histamine release. Try taking an antihistamine such as diphenhydramine at therapeutic doses (e.g. 50mg diphen) before you dose. If histamine is the offending culprit, it should solve the problem.

WRT the scalp tingles.... Enjoy them, they won't last.
