Question on 1st time IV Heroin before quitting...

Back before I quit heroin and ocs, ( snorted) and at the point i was at i wasnt getting a good high off snorting it,didnt have the money to get the amount i would have needed to get a decent high everyday so I wanted to quit, then I had a similar thought of fuck it if i am going to quit and ive been snorting this shit for over a year now, why not IV it just once to know what it feels like in comparason. I did it, and i got high really high and loved it, it was 4 days later i checked in to detox, as i scared myself because snorting was no longer worth it. My advice if you want to stop just stop, if you want to pick up an iv habit heroin is a good drug to start with. Also like someone else said, I know if i go back to junk it will be IV not snorted as you do get more bang for you your buck.

i dont see a problem in wanting to experience a wonderful mainline experience before quitting. i did exactly the same thing with mdma before quitting. i took a big dose for me and had the best time of my life. that was last summer and i havent touched it since. i just wanted to try and feel the way i did when i took my first pill. if u are realy serious about quitting i see no problem in wanting to experience the warmth that you will recieve from a mainline injection. good luck

as you well know shooting is no way to end heroin addiction. doesn't take a genius to figure that one out... have you shot other stuff before? if not, you may find a whole new addiction. needle addiction. i love shooting almost as much as i love the drug itself. but if you are going to continue using then you might enjoy shooting the shit, there is a good reason people love mainlining. it usually takes a few tries to get a real good rush though as you don't want to start out with too much. if you have a tolerence i would start with at least a bag though. have fun...

I've been enjoying arguing with everybody just for the hell of it but I have to agree with the concensus here. In fact, I laughed when I read the title of this thread. Seems to have answered itself. I can tell you that IVing Heroin won't aid in quitting. If you wanna quit, go easy on yourself and don't shoot up. Croquet?

Even thinking about shooting up gives me visceral memories that are too much to deal with...I LOVED SPIKING. Like most people, I started shooting when my habit became too expensive to continue snorting -- and it was downhill fast from there. It's a very different high than snorting or smoking; even now, 13 years since I hit up, I can remember the rush.
Everyone's right. Why do it if you're trying to manage your drug use? (That's a laughable phrase.) That won't dissuade you -- but maybe this will: chances are much higher that you'll die with a needle in your arm than with powder on your nose. I OD'd and survived, but several of my friends didn't. And there's nothing like trying to dump your stash before you've dialed 911, more concerned about getting arrested than your friend who might be dying.
Lots of variables involved in shooting up. If you do it, make sure you know what you're doing. And if you can, take the advice of the people on this board.

Where the fuck do you get this idea from? I've been banging smack since the day I tried it (it's how I started) and I'm not "sharing needles and getting AIDS." Wow, you're a pretty ignorant fuck. It's all up to the person and how clean they want to be about shit. If you have the desire to stay disease free and be as safe as you can, then there is no reason why you should be worried about the risks you mentioned. I don't know about some of the people joining this board lately!
