hey everyone. this will be my first time cloning and I have a quick question. I plan on trying hydroponics with my clones and my question is that when I clip my clones and put then in root riot cubes should I keep them in a dome until the roots show or put them straight into my hydroponics setup? also how long can I keep a mother plant in veg stage and how many cuttings can I take from her? will the branches grow back to be clipped again in the future? thanks everybody for the help

I suggest doing some solid research before attempting. There are a few important factors in order to make healthy starts. First off, I suggest ez clone machines rather than rockwool cubes. I have used rockwool cubes for years and years. But, once switching to ez cloner I am able to make a few hundred clones in 3-5 days with a root system that is much more advanced than rockwool. Not to mention I always have a 100% cloning rate with my ezclone. Rockwool, I get a good % that root but, I have a lot of experience with it. You always have starts that fail to root with rockwool. Ez-clone machines are "bare root" starts where the roots are exposed and you can then place into any medium you want. Hydro, soil etc. Rockwool cubes take MUCH longer and have very poor root systems initially. Type EZ-clone roots on google image search to get a better idea.

If you must use the rockwool cubes keep a VERY close eye on the temp and humidity. Your going to need the dome for a while... Make sure you use brand new everything. Cloning needs to be very sterile. If you don't sterilize everything than you will run into problems in the grow (if you even get it to root).

Do you have cloning gel/solution? There are some people who don't use it. Although, with rockwool cubes you pretty much need it. I wouldn't attempt without a container of rooting hormone.

For rock wool cubes you will wait until the roots are fully exposed. (they should be long before t-planting) You can then place it directly into your set up no matter the medium. ( SOIL OR HYDRO) You can keep the mother for years and years in veg.... it never needs to flower. You can take as many cuts as you want ...Keep in mind the more cuts you take from the mom the more diluted the strain will become. It does take some time to loose potency and such. Yes, branches will grow back.

It seems like this is your first run at growing.... What setup are you using? Any reason for choosing hydro and not soil?
