Since it looks like antidepressants don't work for me I am thinking about trying stuff on my own.
However I also want to stay on a SSRI, since I have nothing to lose.
Currently I am on Vortioxetine. If this doesn't work I will get back to Zoloft or Prozac.
My question now is which supplements are safe to be mixed with SSRIs?
Stuff I am considering as augmentation:
-piracetams (or maybe other racetamins, are they all the same when it comes to mixing with SSRIs?)
-inositol
-tyrosine
-phenylalanine
-acetyl l carnitine
-choline bitartrate
-DAA
Are there general rules by which someone can determine wether a supplement can be mixed with a SSRI?
Or is it basically impossible to know if something can be mixed or not unless studies have been done?
For example I looked up cissus cause I have joint problems. And then I read that cissus obviously affects serum serotonin.
I assume that it's probably not safe to mix cissus with a SSRI then.
This is what really sucks about supplements. You can buy freaky herbs at a supplement shop and basically you have no idea what
these herbs might do in the body and if they can be taken when you're on prescription drugs.
