More than once I have tried to register my shot, and not normal blood fills the rig. It's a darker red, and a thicker consistency.. even to the point of clogging the rig sometimes. I'd hope I'm not the only one this has happened to. The only consistency with these occurrences that I can notice is that it's usually on a scarred vein.

I wasn't sure how to search for this, I apologize if this is a frequently covered topic.

When registering a vien, the blood should be dark in color and more or less "ooze" into the syringe. A thick consistency (compared to water) is good.

However ive never heard of blood clogging a rig. Do you reuse rigs?

Blood clogging a rig is very common. And as for OPs question, I have had that happen and I believe it is harmless. My guess is you hit a vein that has a better flow. Think about when a doctor takes blood and how dark it is.
