Question about Xanax?

Hi, this is my first post on Bluelight. I work as a young persons drug and alcohol key worker. I am trying to find any information regarding a trend we are noticing in the borough I work in. We are receiving referrals for young people who have been using Xanax. We have had one young person who was arrested for assault but can't remember anything that happened on the night he took them. I have recently worked with a group of young people who are using Xanax on top of other drugs like MDMA. This is of serous concern for us as the attitude of this group is to get as wasted as possible. I'm assuming that the Xanax they are obtaining are counterfeit so we do not know what their chemical structure may be.
Does anyone know of Xanax that is currently being circulated in the UK and what they may contain other than alprazolam?
Thanks Guys.
Look forward to some advice on this.
Cheers!
Roy

Xanax does make you forget and also makes you bery confused it is pssible that he fought and forgot it doesnt mean he has took counter-fit
Inside counter-fit it is alprolozam and just chalk like stuff just to make the pill. all it is . Is less alprolozam

Excuse the bad grammar. I've been taking counterfeit xanax on and off for a the past couple years here on the west coast of the US. (I might be no help at all because of the regional difference) but I'll try. 95% of the time it was a clean benzo like alpralozam or etizolam. I'm sure the xanax your clients are getting are counterfeit because the name brand xanax isn't made anymore as far as I know? (May be wrong here correct me if I am I would like to know) BUT even if they are counterfeit the affects you are describing your clients having are 100% parallel to a benzodiazapine. . but the other 5% of the time if you get unlucky around here anyways the worst thay can happen is coming across a bunk pill that has no active compound or a sleep aid and will not get you high or it will be a RC (Research Chemical) benzo and nobody knows about that. But what I'm getting at is people won't buy counterfeits if they don't look, taste, and feel like the real thing. So people making the counterfeits are usually trying to get as close to the real thing as possible, I've came across counterfeit bars that were just pressed bars that had no labels on them and they had to have at least 3 mg alpralozam. But as for harm reduction sake you should never take anything that's not prescribed because at the end of the day if you didn't make the pill or get it from the pharm you have NO IDEA what's In it

Hi Roy and welcome,

Alprazolam is indeed becoming more & more available in the UK.
Just 12 months ago it was relatively difficult to obtain, and much less well known.

I've noticed that since the NPS bill came in to force, Xanax has gained a real foothold.. and quickly. Instead of the Indian generics here & there, we're now seeing 2mg 'bars' churned out in their millions. I've even seen 5mg bars, which is a stupendous dose to have in a single tablet.

I can only speculate on the origin of these bars.. but yes >99% are almost certainly counterfeit.
What I can say with certainty is that Alprazolam is very inexpensive (raw, in bulk).

The worry here isn't that the counterfeit bars contain something other than Alprazolam.
I'm sure there are counterfeits out there that are pressed with other substances.. Etizolam, Flubromazolam, Phenazepam, Nifoxipam..
Maybe even antihistamines like Diphenhydramine, Promethazine, Doxylamine.

But.. I think concerns focused on the 'unknown' chemical makeup of these counterfeits are misplaced.
It's quite likely that the vast majority simply contain Alprazolam, and I would work under this assumption.

Hi there and welcome to the site

We do have an European drug discussion section with a specific thread on benzos - you can find the thread here.

Have a read of the last couple of pages and if the information your looking for is not covered just ask - somebody will answer you (when they wake up).
