Question About Wellbutrin

No...I don't wanna use it recreationally.
I'm using it to quit smoking (although I feel the best I have in years, mentally)and it's working really well.
I started with 1 dose (150mg) per day. After 4 days, you're supposed to step up to 2 pills. I've been doing this, but was wondering if I am supposed to take them both at once or spread it out (this is what I'm doing now).
They are Wellbutrin SR (sustained release), so maybe I should be taking them both at once. Any experiences/info?

Ask your dr/pharmacist. That's what they are there for.

It usually doesn't matter when you take pills unless they mess with your stomach or your sleeping pattern. I don't know about Wellbutrin though, but that's why I'm a Pharm Tech and not a Pharmacist.

Thanks for your feedback guys... The problem is that I didn't get them prescribed. I had a friend who worked at a doctor's office and had access to the "sample closet". Voila! Wellbutrin.
Any more advice would be appreciated.

Just call some random pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist, and tell him that you are taking this, had some questions, and couldn't get through to your regular pharm/dr. They are pretty helpful sometimes.

Ooh...here ya go. From rxlist.com 150 mg twice daily, w/interval of at least 8 hours between doses.
Treatment for Smoking Cessation
Usual Dosage for Adults: The recommended and maximum dose of bupropion HCl sustained
release tablets for smoking cessation is 300 mg/day, given as 150 mg twice daily. Dosing should begin at
150 mg/day given every day for the first 3 days, followed by a dose increase for most patients to the
recommended usual dose of 300 mg/day. There should be an interval of at least 8 hours between
successive doses.

I used Wellbutrin to quit smoking.
For me, it worked best taking the first dose first thing in the morning with a little bit of food, and then taking the second dose about 6 hours later. If I took the second dose too late, I would have a tough time falling asleep.
Last year, I started taking Wellbutrin on Sept. 1 -- it made me loopy and pissed off, but it worked. By the time the 11th rolled around I had had enough and quit smoking. I stopped taking the medication three days later.

1 in the morning and 1 at night. Unless there are reasons that you can't take the meds at a certain time of day (e.g. taking them at night results in insomnia), it's generally best to space out meds to keep the levels of the drug in your body fairly constant. Homeostasis is a good thing.
